HBAC started the Adult class in May 2021 and Children/Jr classes in August. For the safety of all the students and instructors, all adults are fully vaccinated, contactless temperature checks are done upon entering the dojo, and the dojo is cleaned and sanitized/disinfected. Visitation is by invitation only.

Before the 1st class the dojo is cleaned with a Swiffer dry mop, then the mat is mopped with the Zebra Athletics sanitizing mop system and allowed to dry before going on the mat.

Between classes the mat is disinfected using the Clorox handheld electric disinfecting power sprayer system or, if the class is small, mopped with the Zebra mops.

Hawaii Betsuin Aikido Club regrets to inform the passing of Sensei Wayne Ching on the morning of May 25th 2020. Sensei Ching was a kind and gentle person. He was also a calm and knowledgeable instructor. His reputation and jiu waza were highly regarded in the Hawaii Aikido community. He also possessed a great reservoir of jokes and sayings when you shared a drink with him. Sensei Ching's presence and dedication embodied the Aikikai spirit. He will be missed. 🥋🙁
