Our USMNT is heading to the World Cup Round of 32 this Wednesday, July 1st to take on Bosnia and Herzegovina! Even more exciting, Hoover Soccer Club’s very own alumnus, Chris Richards, will be continuing his run on the world stage.

Chris got his start in soccer right here on our Hoover fields from ages 9 to 15 under the guidance of our current Director of Coaching, Paul Welch, and Executive Director, Tomas Fox. Now, it is our turn to come together and cheer him on as he represents our country, city and club history!

The City of Hoover has organized an amazing opportunity to watch and support the USA as a club family and community complete with live entertainment and a closing fireworks show:

A four-year starter and captain, George capped off an outstanding high school career with a county-leading 111 saves, 4 clean sheets, and 4 penalty saves. His leadership, consistency, and ability to come up big in crucial moments earned him All-Metro First Team honors and now 2nd team all county.

We’re proud to celebrate all the hard work and dedication George has shown throughout his career. Well deserved!
