Day 5 OFW Skills Academy | Summer Session - Championship Friday
It was a week full of learning, encouraging, and a boatload of basketball. We worked on our game and taught a few life lessons on respect, being kind, and making good decisions as young athletes.
This year’s camp was a great success. We had the largest attendance ever (woohoo!). We love observing young players progress and fulfill our quest of building better athletes.

How much did you enjoy Day 1 of the OFW Skills Academy | Summer Session?!

We started the week off learning the fundamentals. Coach Ball is with the Rookies (1st-2nd graders) this year. They worked on defensive stances, dribbling, and shooting of course.
It was a day full of firsts for some and a refresher course for our more experienced players. All around we were very impressed with the overall desire they all had to get better.

The 2022 OFW Galaxy travel season wrapped up yesterday.
We’re so proud of all of our teams this year.
The 13U, 15U, and 16U finished with impressive stats. We’ll be sharing those stats and more highlights all week long to celebrate our talented players and coaches.
Thanks to all of you for your hardwork and dedication to be better than you were before the season started. We look forward to cheering all of you on this upcoming school year. And parents, of course we can’t leave you out. Thanks for allowing your young athlete to participate and also for being dedicated to the task of having them prepared to compete, and most of all for the encouragement and the cheers!!!

2027 OFW Galaxy got the early W in their Day 3 contest vs 2027 Team Relentless 41-21.
2025 OFW Galaxy Black went 1-1 on Day 3. In their opening morning contest the Galaxy lost a heartbreaker 50-51 to 2025 PBA Black Elite but bounced back in the evening game against 2025 Armstead Athletics 56-31.
2024 OFW Galaxy capped off Day 3 with a victory against 2025 STARS Basketball North 55-46. Top performers included Ben Evans (15 points)and KJ Kirk (13 points).
All Galaxy teams will be in action later today at the Georgia International Congress Center.
Day 2 of HoopSeen’s Best of the South led to more wins.
Coach AJ Johnson and our (13U) 2027 Galaxy squad had two big wins today.
56 - 32 vs. The Academy
54 - 40 vs. Uwin Servantz
Nate Reid scored 25pts in the first game.
Coach Darden and our (15U) 2025 Galaxy team beat FYI Select-Atlanta, 55 - 40.
Coach Chase and our 16U 2024 Galaxy team won their first game against SBT 2024, 56-40. They came up just short of the win the second game vs. Tennessee Marathon 2024, 51-52.

We took a break last month, but this week the Galaxy is back in action and winning.
2024 OFW Galaxy and Coach Chase opened up with a win over WI Swing Kunde, 64-48 in Day 1 of HoopSeen’s Best of the South Tournament.
Coach Aaron Johnson and the 2027 OFW Galaxy Black came out victorious against 2027 Alpha Elite Gold, 58-22. Luke Stubbs led the Galaxy with 13 points.
2025 OFW Galaxy continued its winning ways and picked up its 1st win in the Best of the South tournament against 2025 HoopAtlanta Black, 61-39. Coach Darden’s squad was led by John Morris (20 pts 6/6 3p) and Eli Stubbs (14 pts).
All Galaxy squads will be back in action today in Atlanta at the Georgia World Congress Center.

As we approach June we’re happy to see two OFW Galaxy teams on top of the YBOA Power Rankings. OFW Galaxy Black 9th Grade (15U) and OFW Galaxy 10th Grade (16U) are both ranked 1st in the state and 4th in the nation.

Joseph Walker (OFW Galaxy 2026) won the Thompson Reynolds Student Athlete award for his character, determination, and putting team first both on and off the court/field. This award is voted on by coaches at Liberty Park Middle School.

Coach Jefferson and OFW Galaxy 8th Grade Girls finished runner-up to end their season.
