Big progress at Open Play this week! ๐
Weโre getting closer to the finish line, and the club is starting to feel more real every day.
Major updates:
- Half of the outdoor padel courts are now poured
- Frontage has been cleaned up, power-raked, and hydroseeded
- Painting is done
- Flooring installation has started
- Weโre starting the hiring process
This week, the team prepared, formed, and poured two more outdoor padel courts. These pours are incredibly precise โ the surface needs the right broom finish, proper flatness, a slight pitch for drainage, and perfectly placed conduits for lighting and cameras.
Thankfully, our site team nailed it.
We also used extra concrete to create an entrance by the roll-up door, which will help us bring equipment and heavy materials directly into the building.
At the front of the property, the main street sign foundation is done, and the whole frontage area has been graded, power-raked, and hydroseeded. It looks amazing.
Inside, painting is officially complete. We used the clubโs blue and yellow, along with dark grey and off-white grey, to tie the whole space together and create the joyful, energetic vibe we want Open Play to have.
Floor prep has also started for our durable, non-slip, water-resistant luxury vinyl plank flooring.
This weekend, Open Play sponsored the Kidde-Fenwal Car Show in Ashland, organized by Peter Kamitian, to raise funds for the American Cancer Society. The highlight was meeting local pickleball legend Nelson Ball, who has done so much for the pickleball community and public courts in Westborough.
Nelson, hats off to you.
