Beware of these caterpillars.

These caterpillars look like tufts of fur and have an extremely painful sting. Puss moth caterpillars typically emerge around May and then again in the late summer.

Many people report a localized pain that may start to radiate towards lymph nodes. If you suspect an allergic reaction, or if stung regions are accompanied by abdominal pain and intense muscle spasms, seek medical attention. Basic Necessities is excited to invite you to participate as a community vendor at Well Mom, Well Baby: Celebrate, Connect & Care on Saturday, November 7, 2026, from 12:00–2:00 p.m. at The Highland Center.

This special event is designed as a day of appreciation for the parents and families we serve. In the spirit of Thanksgiving, we will be providing a complimentary Thanksgiving lunch while creating a welcoming space for families to connect with local organizations, learn about available resources, and celebrate the strength of our community.

Hello everyone!This is a reminder that once we reach that 1000th follower, someone is going to win a $100 Walmart gift card.

The card was donated by an individual who knows the importance of visibility for a food pantry. The easier it is to find Five Loaves and Two Fishes Food Pantry , the faster someone in need of assistance can get help.

Increasing our followers, like's and any other activity on the pantry page, makes the page easier to find when a person searches for a food pantry in North West Louisiana.

The names that follow our page are not in any particular order. Everyone has a chance to win with the exception of businesses that follow us.

You do not have to be a pantry client to win the card. You simply have to be a follower. No age limit.
