Lyman's On The Lake

A big thank you to Whitetails Unlimited for their generous support of Lyman's Fishin' Chicks club. The proceeds will be used for fishing supplies for our club members. We're still looking for more women to join...stop in at Lymans for more details.

Attention Lyman's Fishin' Chicks. Save the date...meet at Lyman's at 8:30 am, March 7th for ice safety training followed by fishing.
March 8th at 9 am, meet at Lyman's for our members only tournament. You must complete the ice safety training to be in the tournament.

Hunter Kennedy from South Boardman is back for his annual ice fishing vacation at Houghton Lake. Using tip-ups baited with blues, he caught this nice 11 1/2" perch.

Higgins Lake unicorn!
Gregory Alma from Lake City caught an extremely rare, 12lb master angler walleye at Higgins Lake. Greg was targeting Lakers using golden shiners on tip-ups.
All we can say is, WOW!

Roscommon county monster pike keep rolling in. Jason Benbow from Kingsley landed this 20 1/2lb, master angler pike out of Higgins Lake.
Jason is in the mix to win the pike category for the Big Ice Hole Catch contest running until mid-March.

Scott Baker from Elsie made me use the wide angle lens to capture his master angler Houghton Lake pike.
He is entered in the Big Ice Hole contest running until the end of February.

Big pike was the theme this weekend. Local angler, Troy Young speared this Higgins Lake master angler pike. It weighed just over 20lbs.

Check out these great prizes for this weekend's (Jan 30 & 31) Tip-Up Town fishing contest. This is open to kids 16 and under. All you need is a badge. Official start time is noon on Friday and weigh-in is 3 pm on Saturday at the TUT site.
Prizes will be awarded for biggest fish, biggest overall catch, a special perch category AND prizes for the most patriotic, so bring out your red, white and blue!

Jacob Woodard landed a 37", 11lb+ northern out of Houghton Lake this weekend. It was big enough to win the Lambie Lunker Award for biggest fish at this year's Tip Up Town Lyman's fishing contest.

This is a reminder that the Houghton Lake Tip Up Town fishing contest starts tomorrow, Friday 1/23 at noon. No registration is required, but you will need a TUT badge to enter. Weigh-in will be at 3 pm at the Tip Up Town site. Full contest rules are available on the Houghton Lake Chamber Commerce website and at Lyman's On The Lake.
This is open to all ages.
