We are so excited to welcome and introduce our newest member of the team - Maximus!
🐕❤
Many of you have already had the pleasure of Maximus borrowing your yoga strap, or unattended face mask, or even a pair of sunglasses or two, WE and Maximus thank you for so graciously welcoming him to the community!
🐕❤
Maximus is a Rhodesian Ridgeback/ Labrador mix and is currently 11 weeks old. He is a curious, regal yogi who loves meeting new people, chewing on rocks, and taking naps during yoga practice.
🐕❤
makes it a mission to give back to all life. WE have hosted several stray dogs and cats at our studio since opening last April. We are committed to taking responsibility for raising the quality of life in our neighborhood, in our city, and on the whole planet. It no coincidence that when WE upgraded his life, he upgraded ours. Nature is always trying to support that effort. WE are grateful that Maximus will be calling the We Thrive Garden his forever home!
🐕❤
Like so many other dogs in Houston, we found Maximus at a rescue shelter. Houston has one of the largest homeless dog populations in the country. It's estimated that there are 1.2 million stray dogs in the city of Houston. Animal control has had to start ignoring calls from the public reporting stray dogs who can often be found starving or running in dangerous traffic. With over 130 calls to help dogs each day, animal control is only able to respond to 30 - 35 calls a day. Animal control says they do not have the manpower or funds to help with the stray dog problem. It is no doubt a challenging issue, and we are committed to making a difference, even if it's one life at a time.
