Osu… it’s more than a word—it’s a way of life.
In every bow, there is respect. In every step, there is discipline. This image captures the true spirit of karate—not just fighting, but humility, control, and inner strength. Long before the first punch is thrown, the battle is within. The bow reminds us that ego has no place in the dojo, only growth. As taught in the path of Gichin Funakoshi, karate begins and ends with respect.
Because in the end… the strongest fighter is not the one who strikes first—
but the one who respects the journey. Osu.

Heartfelt Tribute to Legend Chuck Norris 🪽🪽👼
03/23/2026
In honor of Chuck Norris, who recently completed life on the hardest setting with the same unbreakable discipline that defined every kick, every stance, and every challenge he ever faced, we remember a legend whose spirit transcended arenas, screens, and generations—Carlos Ray “Chuck” Norris, the man who taught the world that mastery is forged through sweat, focus, and a relentless will to rise above every obstacle.
Martial Arts Styles Chuck Norris Trained In and Mastered
Chuck Norris began his martial arts journey while serving in the U.S. Air Force in South Korea, where he studied Tang Soo Do and Judo under Korean masters.
Over decades he trained in and earned high ranks in multiple combat styles:
Tang Soo Do – Korean martial art combining karate and Korean techniques; a foundational style for him.
Storm Taekwondo
Taekwondo – He achieved an 8th degree black belt Grand Master rank, the first in the Western Hemisphere to do so.
Karate – Competitive karate was his proving ground; he also earned a 5th degree black belt.
Judo – Black belt (foundational grappling and throwing techniques).
Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu – 3rd degree black belt, adding ground-fighting depth to his skill set.
Kickboxing & Others – While not formally recorded as league kickboxing championships, he trained in striking arts, and later founded his own ring‑style promotion, the World Combat League, supporting full‑contact striking competition.
Tournament and Competitive Record
Chuck Norris was a ferocious competitor long before Hollywood:
World Professional Middleweight Karate Champion – won this title six consecutive years from 1968 to 1974.
His competitive tournament record is widely cited as roughly 183 wins, 10 losses, 2 draws across state, national, and international events.
Black Belt Magazine
Named Black Belt Magazine Fighter of the Year in 1969 for his consistent winning performance in tournaments.
Throughout the late 1960s and 1970s, he won at least 30 tournament championships and held an unbroken reign as a top competitor until retirement.
Biography
The Style He Founded
Chuck Norris didn’t just excel in existing systems — he created his own:
Chun K*k Do (later renamed the Chuck Norris System):
Founded in 1990 as Chun K*k Do (meaning “The Universal Way”), this hybrid martial art was built from Norris’s years of training in Tang Soo Do, Taekwondo, Karate, Judo, Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, and other combat disciplines.
The system embraces strikes, kicks, throws, ground techniques, and a strong code of personal honor and discipline.
It became the flagship style of the United Fighting Arts Federation (UFAF), with thousands of black belts certified worldwide under his leadership.

Black Belt Ranks (Dan Levels)
Chuck Norris held multiple high dan rankings, reflecting his mastery and contribution to the art:
10th degree black belt in the Chuck Norris System (Chun K*k Do) — the highest level in his own system.
9th degree black belt in Tang Soo Do.
8th degree black belt in Taekwondo.
5th degree black belt in Karate.
3rd degree black belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, plus belts in Judo and other disciplines.
Legacy
Chuck Norris’s impact on martial arts, both competitively and as a teacher, actor, and founder, made him an enduring symbol of toughness, discipline, and excellence — a true warrior whose contributions shaped modern martial culture and inspired generations
