With Nationals kicking off at the end of the week, we’re throwing it back to 2025 with a shot of Cole Weston at the National Shooting Center.

Cole and his teammates will be back in San Antonio, ready to take on some challenging birds and compete for a spot on the podium!

Wishing all our athletes and their families safe travels as they head to San Antonio over the next two weeks. Good luck to everyone, and stay tuned for updates as Nationals gets underway. ⭐

🎯 LSSST Pro Team Member Preston Rand and his #1 Fan… MOM! ❤️

Behind every great shooter is a great support crew! Our LSSST parents are chauffeurs, cheerleaders, photographers, and the all-important snack providers! Because let’s face it, long days on the course require plenty of fuel, and a hungry shooter is nobody’s idea of a good time!

A big shoutout to all our LSSST parents who keep showing up, cheering loud, and keeping those snacks coming!

The athletes bring the aim, and the parents bring the snacks!

🎯 WHY DO ATHLETES LOVE CLAY SHOOTING?

It’s the challenge of a target you almost had… and the excitement when you finally break it.

It’s the feeling of stepping into the stand and knowing the next target is yours to take on.

It’s the friendships made on the range, the teammates cheering from the sidelines, and the coaches who push you to become better.

It’s the competition, the travel, the early mornings, the laughs, the traditions, and the memories made along the way.

It’s learning that sometimes you win, sometimes you miss, and either way—you get another chance at the next target.

But most of all, it’s the feeling of being part of something.

Clay shooting gives our athletes a place to challenge themselves, build confidence, make lifelong friendships, and have a whole lot of fun doing it.

And once you catch the clay shooting bug… there’s really nothing quite like it. 🎯❤️

IT'S NOT ALWAYS ABOUT THE SCORE.

Scores will go up and down. Some days everything clicks, and other days the targets seem to have a mind of their own.

But every round teaches you something.

Every competition, every lesson, every miss, and every breakthrough becomes part of the journey.

The goal isn't to be perfect. The goal is to keep learning, keep improving, and keep showing up.

And that's where the real growth happens. 🎯

CONFIDENCE IS BUILT, NOT GIVEN.

Confidence on the course doesn’t come from hoping you’ll shoot well. It comes from knowing you’ve put in the work.

Every practice round, every difficult target, every lesson, and every competition adds another piece to the foundation.

When athletes trust their preparation, they can step into the stand with confidence and give each target their best.

Put in the work. Trust the process. Shoot with confidence. 🎯

NO ATHLETE DOES IT ALONE.

Behind every shooter are coaches who teach, parents who drive, teammates who encourage, and families who sacrifice time and energy to make it all possible.

From early mornings to long road trips and countless hours on the range, it takes an entire team to support an athlete's journey.

At LSSST, we're proud that the experience is about more than shooting. It's about the people we become along the way. ❤️🎯

This morning, the Texas A&M Trap & S***t Team traveled to Greater Houston Sports Club for an exciting showdown against the Lone Star Select Shooting Team!

After a close-fought competition, Texas A&M came out on top by just 12 points! 🏆 Congratulations to the Aggies — we’re happy to pass the reins to the champions, and we hope to have the opportunity to take them on again soon!

But the HOA title stayed right here at LSSST! Eastyn Shryock put together an incredible performance, shooting a straight 100 birds to claim HOA! 🎯🔥

A huge thank you to our Director of Food & Beverage, Brent Nicholas, for providing an amazing meal for everyone, and to Kevin Dougherty and the Greater Houston Sports Club for helping make this event possible.

We had a fantastic day of competition, camaraderie, and great shooting. We’ll be ready for the rematch! 💪🎯

NOT EVERY TARGET PLAYS BY THE RULES.

Different backgrounds. Different presentations. Wind. Light. Speed. Angle. Clay shooting has a way of reminding you that you can't always control what comes your way.

What you can control is how you respond.

Our athletes learn to adapt, make adjustments, and trust themselves when a target doesn't look exactly like the one they practiced.

Adapt. Adjust. Execute. 🎯

🎯 IT’S NOT ABOUT THE TARGETS YOU MISS—IT’S ABOUT HOW YOU RESPOND.

Clay shooting teaches athletes an important lesson: you can’t get every target.

There will be missed targets, tough stations, frustrating rounds, and days when things just don’t go your way. But the best shooters learn not to let one missed target affect the next.

You take a breath. Reset. Learn from it. And get ready for the next one.

Because in this sport, just like in life, resilience matters. You can’t change the shot that’s already behind you—but you can control your attitude, your focus, and what you do next.

Miss. Reset. Refocus. Break the next one. 🎯
