We are in need of volunteers to help out race day! We need people to help set up at the site Saturday and also to help with food service, the kids race and miscellaneous important, but fun tasks.

The Bayou Bash Relay is this Saturday, 4PM at TC Jester Park.
Heads up HARRA - Houston Area Road Runners Association Members (and anyone else who wants their accurate leg time displayed in the final results)!
HARRA now counts individual relay leg times toward
Runner of the Season (Rots) and Ironfoot Awards (previously team-only).
Please make sure your team is entered in the correct running order (1st-4th) when registering. The order in RunSignUp is hard to edit once in the order is established. This ensures your leg time is credited to you.
If your order changes on race day, just let the Race Director, Timer, or HARRA know so we can make changes in the final results.
Not currently a HARRA Member but want to be? Early Bird Registration is now open! save $5 and be current for the Relay and the next running year (through 6/30/27)

4 X 2.2 mile Relay followed immediately by the HARRA Family Picnic.
Family-Friendly Event!
Adult and Junior (18 and under) relay divisions!

NEW RACE DIVISION: "ODDS & ENDS"
You've assembled a kick-a$$ team. But you only have 2 or 3 teammates. No problem! You can participate in the Odds & Ends Division.
Teammates may run multiple legs - any combo - 1, 2 or 3 runners - to complete the distance.
This is also an option for teams who want members to run/walk legs concurrently instead of sequentially due to time on the course.
NON-Competitive Division - team will receive a time, but not eligible for race awards

FREE HOLIDAY LIGHTS RUN WITH ☃️🏃🏾♀️🏃🏼😍
🕕Weds, Dec 13th at 6pm
📍River Oaks neighborhood - start is at the Rose Garden on Lazy Lane
Dress: Wear festive regalia! Be conspicuous! For this after-dark run, lights or high-visibility clothes strongly recommended.
HARRA is partnering with the on their annual Holiday Lights Run through River Oaks this Wednesday evening at 6pm. This event is FREE and OPEN to all. Kids welcome but must remain with parents on the streets for safety reasons.
The 4-mile fun run/walk begins at the Rose Garden on Lazy Lane. See downloadable map link in our bio or here https://linktr.ee/harraruns. Shorter options available. After the run, the fun continues at Kenneally's Irish Pub, 2111 S Shepherd, Houston, TX 77019. We have a room reserved and will be raffling off some gift cards and FREE race entries.
PARKING NOTE: There is NO parking on Lazy Lane by the Rose Garden. Best bet to find parking is on the streets on the opposite side of Kirby Dr.

🎗️A core part of the Houston Area Road Runners Association’s (HARRA) mission is to support our running community by donating to local charities which provide running-related programs to under-represented/disadvantaged groups. Past donation recipients include Bel Inizio, FamilyPoint Resources, Girls on the Run, Run for Wellness, and Achilles International. HARRA is also a long-standing supporter of Houston parks through its Bayou City Classic 10K/5K races.
To achieve this part of our mission, HARRA is now taking applications for its 2023-2024 Charitable Contributions program. This program grants up to $1,000 to Houston area non-profit charities which support and incorporate running /walking/athletics in their goals and mission.
Non-profits are free to come up with their own format for their applications, but are required to provide the following:
• a brief narrative on the non-profit’s history, goals, and mission;
• examples of how running/walking/athletics are included in their programs; and
• a high-level summary of their most recent full year financial statements.
A PowerPoint presentation or PDF is preferred, of no more than 15 pages. The deadline for applications is January 19, 2024, and all applications should be emailed to [email protected].
