HIGH SCHOOL SOFTBALL 🏫🥎
As we step into the High School Softball Season and Tryouts, here are a few important things to share with your players:
1. Control what you can control. Your attitude and your effort are a huge aspect.
2. Something will go wrong during tryouts. The most important part is how you handle failure and respond.
3. Leave nothing on the field. We have a lot of talent in our area, and sometimes the smallest detail separates two softball players.
4. Look like a softball player. This is a job interview. Dress for success, and that starts with your very first warm-up throw to how you carry yourself.
5. This is the fun part. Most of these players have worked their whole lives for this moment. Trust your hands and trust your mind.
6. Understand who you are as a softball player. Some things can’t be measured with a radar gun or a stopwatch. Heart, toughness, and leadership matter most, so make sure they show.
7. Introduce yourself to every coach. Eye contact, confidence, and communication go a long way.
8. The outcome is what it is. When tryouts are over, make sure you have no regrets.
Reminder: On tryout days, take a deep breath and look around. Enjoy the moment and make sure to relax!
