I love the woman Ive become because Ive fought to become her πŸ’ͺπŸ’ƒ I used to live by what other people (close family, friends, coworkers) said about me. I was too this & too that. Their words would play on repeat in my head & affected my self-confidence & how I viewed myself.

These people are toxic for your mental health. Their opinions on YOUR life do not matter. They aren’t signing your paycheck, they aren’t putting food on your table.

Now when I look in the mirror, I see a strong, bold, beautiful woman, who loves herself. I am confident in my body & my decisions. I do not hold anyone else's opinion above my own πŸ‘‘

At the end of the day, I realized I’m not everyone’s cup of tea...because I’m a fu***ng piping hot mocha latte β˜•οΈπŸ”₯😘

My secret for losing 95 lbs? I prioritized myself πŸ₯° When I was married, I gave all my love & energy to my marriage πŸ’› I prioritized my marriage over myself as an individual. I felt so lost going through the divorce because my sole identity was "wife" πŸ’”πŸ’

When I worked for corporate, I gave my time (working long hours & through lunch) to those companies. I made someone else rich while robbing time from myself & my family. I gained 65+ lbs & was eventually laid off in 2019 πŸ€•πŸ˜Ÿ

Being a mom, I used to put my kids needs before mine. My kids were mostly happy but I wasnt every time I looked in the mirror & well we know if mama aint happy, aint no else happy πŸ˜–πŸ₯Ί

I had to prioritize myself first πŸ‘¨β€πŸ‘©β€πŸ‘¦ which meant I needed to make time for myself, daily. Whether thats working out, taking a lunch & not rushing through it, mental breaks, therapy, etc πŸ‘‘

I realized if you don't take control over your time & your life, other people will. If you don't prioritize yourself, you will fall lower & lower on your list πŸ’›

Hey yall πŸ‘‹ My name is Andrea Elliott & Ive lost 94 lbs through counting macros, lifting weights, HIIT & intermittent fasting πŸ‹οΈβ€β™€οΈ

I started my weight loss journey in Dec 2014, after being diagnosed with Lupus πŸ€•

Easiest way to describe Lupus is instead of my body fighting off illnesses like yours does, my body fights itself & targets my tissues & organs πŸ‘Š Lupus is extremely painful. I live everyday of my life in pain but Ive learned to cope with it.

I also battle Hypothyroidism & have Hashimotos as well 😣

During my weight loss journey and since Dec 2014 I have:

πŸ‘©β€πŸ‘¦β€πŸ‘¦become a single mom to 2 boys
πŸ‘©β€πŸ’Όbeen laid off from my corporate job after turning my boss in for sexual harassment

πŸ“‰Lost a total of 94 lbs
πŸ€•Now have been diagnosed with PCOS

I lost count of the number of times I cried myself to sleep, asked why me, wanted to give up, doubted my potential, felt alone/misunderstood πŸ’”πŸ˜­

But I didnt stay in that head space, despite whatever was going on in my life at the time.

Summer is in less than 2 months, I’m 1 month in on this cut & trying to keep this b***y at the same time. I’m down 12 lbs, cleaned up my diet & really pushing myself in the gym. So far so good πŸ™πŸ‘πŸ˜»

How did I achieve this? Folks, I started out going to the gym 4xs/week. I still train 4xs/week πŸƒβ€β™€οΈπŸ‹β€β™€οΈ

Anything less is maintenance, if even that. Anything more & my body cannot recover.

I started out at almost 240 lbs. 2 kids. Just diagnosed with Lupus, so the gym was complete agony to me but I knew I couldnt live my life like this anymore. This wasnt life. This wasnt living.

I worked full time. I was married. I had a lot depending on me & made every excuse I could think of as to why I couldnt gym or lose weight until I ran out of excuses.

When someone tells me they want these same results but they dont have time, the money, its too inconvenient for them, it doesnt work with their schedule, etc, it reminds me of old Andrea. Old Andrea who made everyone & everything else a priority but herself.

Old Andrea who emotionally ate to cope. Who started a new diet on Monday & by Wednesday I gave up. Old Andrea who could "never lose the weight" so I would try the newest diet pill, cleanse, diet, etc.

Old Andrea is still around but I gotta check that bitch when she wants to stay home from the gym or when she wants to go back to old habits that no longer serve me.

My determination to never go back to old Andrea is what motivates me. What motivates YOU?
