Because of them, more kids can engage with youth sports, which helps to instill teamwork, resilience, and confidence that carry into the classroom and beyond. Social isolation affects nearly 1 in 4 adults 65+ and is linked by the CDC to a roughly 50% higher risk of dementia and other health concerns. Healthy aging requires connection and the YMCA of Greater Houston is a place to do it.
