Discipline reduces reliance on motivation.
Motivation is inconsistent by nature. It rises and falls with energy, mood, and circumstance. When action depends on motivation, consistency breaks under pressure. Discipline removes that dependency by creating a standard that holds regardless of how you feel. Leaders who operate from discipline maintain forward movement even when conditions are not ideal. Reliability is built through commitment, not emotion.
Identify one action you tend to delay when motivation is low. Complete it today based on standard, not feeling.

Just wrapped up another 3-day fast.
I try to do one of these every quarter—sometimes I’ll stretch it to 5 days—but 3 days is my consistent baseline.
I do it for the obvious health benefits… but honestly, that’s only part of it.
There’s something powerful about the physical and mental challenge. About choosing discomfort. About sitting in that moment when your glycogen is gone, your energy dips, and for about 12–24 hours you’re thinking, “Why did I sign up for this again?” 😅
And then… it shifts.
Clarity kicks in. Gratitude goes up. You feel lighter—physically and mentally. It’s a reset button I’ve come to really value.
It’s not for everyone, and I always recommend doing your own research and listening to your body. But for me, this has been one of the most effective tools to:• Stay feeling young• Keep my body dialed in• Build discipline• And honestly… appreciate food and life on a whole different level
There’s a little bit of suffering involved—but I’ve learned that’s usually where the growth lives.
Now that I’m wrapping this one up, I’ll ease back in slowly…
…and then probably eat everything under the sun like a savage for the next 24 hours 😂
Hope everyone has an awesome Easter weekend. Stay healthy, stay grateful, and don’t be afraid to challenge yourself often.
Been a while since I’ve been a regular
Man, I miss these workouts. Glad to be back and training alongside some of Houston’s very best MMA fighters! Thank you for the ass whooping…I mean, great training 👊🏼

Super proud and honored to promote Professor Michael Torres to 2nd degree black belt. I’ve had the honor to train with, coach and teach alongside Professor Mike since he was purple belt and now he runs an amazing academy with the best students. His dedication to his family, his craft, his team and his business are a great example of what one can accomplish when they commit and dedicate themselves to a great cause. Congratulations brother! Super proud and honored to be a part of this moment 🙏

Such a great day reconnecting with Sensei Saulo at Six Blades HQ today!
The techniques were so beautiful and precise. I can’t wait to share it with all my students.
And, as always, the philosophical insights to both training and life were something we will all remember.
