Here's some good news for your Friday: When you donate to RCR now through 12/5, your donation will be matched by the ColoradoGives.org statewide incentive fund! This means more support for our awesome programs, like Bike Match!
Since it's inception in 2021, Bike Match has tuned and sent over 400 (!!!) bikes back into the Yampa Valley! We love watching this program grow and could not do it without the help of our community. 🚲
Spread the joy of biking and donate NOW: https://www.coloradogives.org/donate/RouttCountyRiders 🎉

This is HTX VeloFemme’s real MVP. We were able to accomplish our goal of setting a new course record at Race Across the West thanks to crew chief Paul Majors who did a phenomenal job planning and executing team logistics. Paul is a natural leader and was a perfect crew chief, as he is a detailed spreadsheet-loving engineer who also relates really well with people and thrives under pressure. We appreciate you so much Paul!! Thank you for taking care of countless details (hundreds of hours worth!) for HTX VeloFemme!

A week after returning from Race Across the West, HTX VeloFemme had a mini reunion on a local group ride this morning with racers plus crew members and Jim. In Houston, we don’t have hills (other than a few overpasses), so people just rip each other’s legs off in the flats, hitting speeds of >35mph.

HTX Velo Femme did it, thanks to the support of truly extraordinary crew and sponsors. We finished Race Across the West (930 miles from California to Colorado with 55,000 feet of climbing) in 52 hours 47 minutes and 31 seconds. That’s an average of 17.67mph, setting a new course record for 4-woman teams. Thank you to our sponsors Haute Wheels Racing, Khalid Alrashed - State Farm agent, Plantgistix, Tile Roofs of Texas, Traughber Nutrition, Dan Gulf Shipping, Enterprise Rent-A-Car, Holland Racing, iAthlete.club, Tacos A Go Go, TASCO Auto Color, Urban Bicycle Gallery, BASE Performance, Christopher Bean Coffee, Cindy Diggs, Dr. Ahuja at Medical Center ENT Associates, and Mike and Shannon Bollman. We appreciate each and every one of you and all who helped us accomplish our goal and who sent encouraging words along the way. 💖💖💖

Update: we just passed the 48-hour marker from our Race Across the West start and have completed >845 miles. 💖 We love riding in Utah and will be in Colorado in 5 miles!

We shared the RAW mobile tracking link, but this link is for anyone who wants more detailed tracking info as we keep pushing the pace to set a 4-woman team course record. We are in our final 130 miles (current status is we are climbing — again LOL — just a couple of miles from the 800-mile marker of 930).

Good morning, friends! We just changed time zones so jumped from 4-5am. Also we are >700 miles in, and the timing device was delivered to us near Flagstaff last night, so we are now live on the tracker. 😊 —

Pamela pulls off the road on Meggin’s right in a rolling transition in Prescott National Forest (where they encountered >130 feet of climbing per mile). In rolling transitions, which we may do from 7am-7pm except on reservation land where direct vehicle follow and stopped transitions are required, retiring rider’s front wheel must cross new rider’s rear wheel. HTX VeloFemme is ~500 miles into Race Across the West and on target to meet its goal.
