POT LUCK DINNER
We’re going to try something different this year, we’re going to have a pot luck dinner. Bring your favorite dish and your favorite gun, if you want to do some shooting. It will be held on the 26th of September at 6:00 pm. We encourage everyone to come and enjoy the different dishes.
We have brand new stands for the steel targets. These are made from thick angle iron so they should last a lot longer than the light weight ones they replaced. We also have some new steel targets. In July and August, we got a lot of badly needed building and grounds maintenance done.
We hate to do this, but the yearly membership dues are being raised to $150.00. Our property and liability insurance now runs right at $7,000 a year. Other expenses have also been going up quite a bit the past three years, including the cost of grounds maintenance, and equipment purchase and repair. Our brush hog works, but the last time we had a gearbox rebuilt, we were told that there were no more parts available for it. If we lose another gearbox, we will have to purchase a new, or a good used, one. We priced them a while back and they are not cheap. If we were to have to buy a new trap or s***t machine, they are not cheap either.
I would like to remind members that the consumption of alcohol is not allowed on club property.
If you lose, or damage, your membership card, just call, text or e-mail me and I’ll send you another one. Or, if you were expecting one and did not receive it, call, text, or e-mail me.
Before you drive a distance to use the club, be sure to check the schedule on the club’s web site for updates, the Club’s page, call me at 573-889-8372, or e-mail me ([email protected]). I have found that messenger is not a reliable way to get in touch with me. I try to post changes to the schedule as early as possible, but sometimes things come up at the last moment.
For those who wish to renew their membership early, the dues are $150.00 a year, except junior members. Junior member dues are $75.00. If mailing, send to Robert Lyons, 113 Sackett St., Licking, MO 65542. If you happen to be in Houston, you can drop your dues off at Debo’s Hardware Store on Grand Ave. See Bob or Andrew Roach.
