We are saddened to learn of the passing of Master Saekson Janjira and mourn his loss with the U.S. Muay Thai Community.

Master Saekson was among the four pioneer instructors from across the State who worked to unify Muay Thai and provide opportunities for growth in Texas.

Serving alongside Co-Founders Ajarn Kayan, Ajarn Phet, and Ajarn Vong as members of the Texas Muay Thai Association in 2007, they met with the Texas Department for Licensing and Regulation (TDLR) and set the foundation for the legalization of Competitive Full Rules Professional and Amateur Muay Thai in Texas.

Our sincere condolences to his surviving family, friends, and students. May Master Saekson rest in peace. 🥊🇹🇭🥊

Flashback Friday: Muay Thai on the marquee!

Taking place in Edinburg, Texas--at what was known as Rodz Sports Theater--several of our events conducted in 2012 captivated fight fans in the Rio Grande Valley and served as a flashpoint that paved the way for the development of Competitive Muay Thai across the State of Texas.

Building on a long-standing partnership with Watpa Buddhayan in Sugar Land, and after a formal request, official written authorization was granted to Conquista Muay Thai - Amateur to
host its Competitive Amateur Youth and Adult Muay Thai events on temple grounds.

Their continued mission is to promote and host events that capture not just the fighting, but also the Spiritual and Cultural roots of Muay Thai in the Greater Houston Area! 🥊🇹🇭🥊

With two months to go, the fight card for Conquista Muay Thai's Inaugural Event scheduled for Saturday June 6th at The Citrus Live in Edinburg, Texas is now in the hands of the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation (TDLR) for approval!

Conquista Muay Thai 2 is scheduled to take place at The Citrus Live in Edinburg, Texas on Saturday, July 18th, 2026 (pending TDLR approval). Matchmaking will begin on Monday, April 13th.

Fighters interested on getting on their growing roster of athletes and fight card are encouraged to contact them via email at [email protected].

All arhletes must meet the following requirements:
1. Have Amateur or verifiable Professional Muay Thai fight experience;
2. Be able to communicate in English & Spanish, as needed.
3. Be able to perform their fight camp's Wai Kru/Ram Muay. (No stealing Wai Kru/Ram Muay from another camp, or making one up with non-traditional/offensive movments); and
4. Satisfy all Texas Department for Licensing and Regulation (TDLR) criteria (Medicals, etc.) for registration as a licensed professional Combative sports competitor;

For faster responses, interested fighters are encouraged to send their fight resume and a recent (head and shoulders) photograph with the following information:

1. Full Legal Name (and Fight Name/Nickname, if applicable)
2. Current Address, City, State, Country, Zip Code
3. Birthdate/Current Age/Height/Weight
4. Contact Information (Phone & Email)
5. Gym Name, Instructor, and Contact Information (With complete gym address, Phone. Email, Website)
6. Amateur and Professional Muay Thai Fight Record (Wins/Losses/Draws and Weightclass(es) NOTE: "Smokers" or unsanctioned fights are not considered as valid competition.
7. Video and/or web links to video footage of your bouts.

Athletes who meet qualifications will be contacted by phone or email for a brief in-person or video interview.

Conquista Muay Thai - Amateur received its recognition by the Texas Secretary of State as an Amateur Sports Association duly authorized to conduct its activities in the Lone Star State.

Along with our schedule of Professional Muay Thai events, an avenue for development through Competitive Amateur Adult (and Youth) Muay Thai events is in the works and coming soon!
