County commissioners approve $105M plan to revitalize Astrodome It's a question that Houston has been asking for a long time now: What do we do with the Astrodome?

A member of the current Dome project answered some questions that shed a little light on what's currently going on with the Dome on reddit recently.

The biggest takeaway, at least for me, was this:

"...because of a pending State Antiquities Landmark designation by the Texas Historical Commission, the county CAN'T tear it down. The THC has to approve whatever happens to the Dome now - including power washing or painting."

Looks like we no longer have to worry about the Astrodome being torn down! That's a win in itself.
