Last week, we celebrated the graduation of Cohort 4 of the iMPACT Leadership Development Program (LDP) for Musket Corp. and Love's Alternative Energy.

Watching this cohort present on their capstone projects was a powerful reminder of what happens when organizations intentionally invest in developing their leaders.

Throughout the past several months, participants learned from one another as much as they learned from the participating senior leaders and me. More importantly, they had multiple opportunities to practice leadership in real-world settings. They strengthened their communication skills, learned to engage stakeholders more effectively, collaborated across functions, challenged assumptions, and transformed ideas into solutions that addressed real business opportunities.

The capstone project presentations went far beyond proposing solutions to real business challenges. They demonstrated:

📌 Stronger collaboration across teams
📌 Strategic thinking grounded in business priorities
📌 The ability to turn learning into measurable action
📌 Increased confidence in leading conversations and influencing others

Some of my favorite moments in the program come when participants recognize how much they've grown—as people, professionals, and leaders who are capable of creating meaningful impact wherever they serve.

Congratulations to every Cohort 4 participant!!! Your openness, curiosity, commitment, and willingness to stretch yourselves made this journey so rewarding and inspiring for me.

A heartfelt thank you to the executive sponsors, managers, mentors, guest speakers, and everyone who invested their time and energy in supporting these exceptional leaders. Leadership development is never a solo effort, and your partnership is what makes experiences like this possible.

If your organization is looking to develop early- and mid-career leaders who can communicate with confidence, build strong stakeholder relationships, lead cross-functional initiatives, and deliver meaningful business results, we'd love to start a conversation.

A belated Happy 250th birthday, America! 🇺🇸

As a first-generation immigrant, I am thankful for the opportunities I've had in this young yet remarkable country— especially the opportunity to build a fulfilling career, grow as a leader, and ultimately start my own business.

Today, I have the privilege of helping others do the same: build their leadership muscles, unlock their potential, and create meaningful impact in their organizations and communities.

To me, that's what leadership is all about—creating opportunities that allow others to grow and thrive.

What has the independence of this nation made possible in your life or in the life of your family?

I hope you had a wonderful Independence Day weekend.

As professional women, we may find ourselves waiting to be recognized before stepping into the next level.

We wait for the title.
The tap on the shoulder.
The permission.

But here’s a principle successful women leaders share:

👉 Your growth as a leader is not something that happens to you or is given to you. It’s something you actively design.

Taking ownership of your career doesn’t mean doing everything alone or pushing nonstop.

It means taking responsibility for your progression and intentionally building effective partnerships as you grow.

Here are a few strategies that have worked for me and the leaders I work with:

Gaining clarity on the impact you want to make—not just the role you want next

Seeking feedback before you feel “ready”

Building relationships with people who stretch your thinking, advocate for you, and surface opportunities you may not see

Advocating for your growth—even when it feels uncomfortable

Too often, women are taught to be patient, grateful, and quiet—especially early in their careers and lives.

Leadership, however, rewards clarity, intention, and voice.

If you’re an emerging woman leader, ask yourself:
Where am I waiting for permission when I could be taking ownership?

Your growth is your responsibility—but you don’t have to navigate it alone.

✨ The earlier you learn this, the more ready you are to realize your full potential as a leader.

A transformational vision can be powerful—and still fall flat.

Many leaders articulate bold, future-focused visions. The intent is right. The ambition is real.

Yet months later, progress feels slow, fragmented, or stuck.

More often than not, the gap isn’t commitment. It could be

the absence of a clear, human-centered roadmap.

A strong transformation roadmap doesn’t just outline initiatives. It helps people make sense of change.

It answers the questions that quietly shape buy-in:

• What does this mean for me and my role?
• What needs to shift first before results are expected?
• Who is involved, and how do we work together differently?
• How will we know we’re moving in the right direction?

When leaders invest time in building this clarity, something shifts.

Alignment improves.
Resistance softens.
Energy becomes more focused.

Because people don’t resist change—they resist uncertainty.

A thoughtful roadmap turns vision into shared ownership and gives leaders a practical way to move from aspiration to action.

If you’re leading transformation and sensing hesitation, confusion, or fatigue, it may be worth asking:
Is the lack of clarity about the vision or the implementation roadmap?

If this resonates, I’d love to hear what stage of transformation you’re navigating right now.

The #1 Predictor of Leadership Development Program Success: Manager Involvement

If a participant’s manager isn’t reinforcing the learning, modeling the behaviors, or creating space for practice, the leadership program ends the moment the workshops do.

Manager involvement is the multiplier of development.

When managers:

-- Contribute insight to the program’s goals

-- Understand its key learnings

-- Support skill practice

-- Give meaningful feedback

-- Celebrate growth

…participants build confidence faster, apply skills sooner, and sustain behavior change longer.

Early and mid-career leaders especially need managers who champion their development, not just manage their performance.

When leadership programs don’t intentionally engage managers, the full weight of transformation falls on the learner. That’s not realistic — or fair.

Leadership development is a team effort — and participant managers are critical members of that team.

How are you equipping managers in your organization to reinforce leadership growth?

2025 stretched me in very unusual ways, delivered some powerful lessons, and brought me meaningful wins—both professionally and personally.

I was repeatedly reminded that growth sometimes happens mostly outside of work. Being stretched on a personal level reinforced how important it is to prioritize family, health, and well-being alongside ambition.

I’m especially grateful for:

• Friends and relatives who've been here for my family and me through it all
• Leaders inspiring me by their courage in challenging their own narratives
• Honest conversations about growth and barriers
• The opportunity to support leadership journeys that matter
• Being able to show up for others in need—professionally, personally, and in ways that truly mattered

As we head into the holidays, I’m carrying forward gratitude—and clarity about where I’m headed next.

In 2026, my focus will be on deepening impact: supporting leaders and organizations in building leadership that is human-centered, culturally responsive, results-oriented, and designed to last.

Here’s to rest, reflection, and renewed energy for the year ahead.

The power of mentorship isn’t one-sided.

Mentorship isn’t hierarchical—it’s relational. And its greatest impact lives in the exchange.

For the mentee, it’s about gaining perspective, confidence, and insight to energize their growth.

For the mentor, it’s an opportunity to grow as a leader, through listening, challenging, influencing, and learning alongside someone else.

When mentorship works, both partners grow.

The impact of a successful mentorship partnership is felt beyond its two participants as it sharpens leadership, builds trust, and strengthens culture.

Build for Your Culture, Not Someone Else’s

One of the biggest reasons many leadership development programs don’t stick?

They’re built around someone else’s leadership model.

Ready-made frameworks rarely resonate with your people because they don’t necessarily reflect your organization's culture, challenges, or expectations from leaders

A few things effective leadership development programs have in common:

-- Speaking your organization’s language
-- Reflecting the realities of your industry (especially in rapidly-changing sectors like energy)
-- Reinforcing your organization's values and decision-making norms
-- Addressing the actual behaviors leaders need to succeed in your environment

Participants feel the difference and respond accordingly. When a program is aligned with the culture, they lean in as they find it applicable to their day-to-day situations. When it’s generic, they check out

Leadership development becomes most powerful when it’s customized to your values, needs, and realities.

What’s one leadership behavior that truly defines your organization's culture?
