I was pulling into work and was running a little late on Sept 11th, 2001. When I got to the door it was locked, but the lights were on. I spent the next 10 mins trying to get someone’s attention so I can get inside. My boss comes to the door and I can tell she’s been crying. She flings the door open and screams “There’s more important things going on in the world! Go home!!!” I was shocked to say the least at her reaction. Still had no clue what was going on.
When I got home and saw the devastation my body went numb. I cried and cried watching the scenes from ground zero hour after hour. Our world was forever changed. While we remember the tragedy of today let’s also remember the unity and the outpouring of love felt throughout the entire nation as we grieved that horrible day. That’s what we need more than anything these days. Unity and an outpouring of love. Have a blessed day tribe and try to love each other a little more.

It pains me to post this update, but it’s where we are right now. Blessed Body Pilates reopened June 23, 2020. We reopened during a spike in Covid-19 cases. We did not open to an influx of clients. In fact, it’s been more of a slow trickle of clients. While we are very happy to have our clients back, the majority of clients who have returned were clients who purchased a year-long package prior to the pandemic, meaning no revenue. Other clients who have returned are also working off other packages that were purchased pre-lockdown. Since we reopened in June we have generated maybe $1500 in revenue as of September 9, 2020. We also have not opened to capacity due to social distancing regulations. We previously had 7 machines that we operated with and we are currently at 3, with the possibility of being able to add a 4th machine in the next month.
We did receive a small PPP loan which is why the amount needed decreased. However we are going into our 6th month of no revenue with 100% bills. I have applied for so many grants and loans. I apply and never hear anything back. I am one of the small businesses that feels like they are falling through the cracks and Blessed Body will be the one next COVID-19 losses unless we can get some help. We are down more than $80,000 this year. I’m not even asking for what we’ve lost, I’m just asking to help keep us around.

Welcome to month 2! That’s right! It’s been 2 months since we reopened. I can’t believe it’s gone by so fast. I think we are finally settling into a comfortable routine at the studio. Yes we are requiring face masks. No it’s not as bad as you think. Here’s a great article on the safety do’s and dont’s of wearing a mask while exercising. For those of you that have been in studio with me already, a lot of this will be real familiar to you.

Join us this Saturday’s for our Blessed Body BYOB Brunch! Dress up or stay in your jammies and come hang out with your Pilates friends. I don’t know about you but I miss the feel of our studio. This will be a fun way for us to catch up and just feel each other’s energies again.

10 days from her due date!! I’m so honored that she’s trusted me throughout her entire 1st pregnancy to keep her safe while she works out. I’m AMAZED that she’s put up with me the whole time lol. Amee you’re a superstar! Pilates is AMAZING for your pregnancy.
