Galleon Clan Escrima

Galleon Clan Escrima is a classical style of Escrima taught by G**o Joseph Galleon. The knife sub-set is taught off the basis of classical knife dueling.

This family system of Escrima is from the Visayan region, island of Leyte, district of Massin. The Galleon Clan system of Escrima is based off of 12 formal strikes & six axillary strikes and encompasses six subsets: double blade, single blade, knife, stick and dagger (Espada y daga), staff (Sibat), and empty hand fighting (Pangamot). Two years ago today we held our first public seminar introducing this art to the world. We also announced the publication of G**o Joe's book, Galleon Clan Escrima: The Journey of Sinawali. We are still going strong sharing and teaching this family art that has been passed down from generation to generation.

Sinawali is the foundation for Galleon Clan Escrima. All aspects of the system stem from it. Once you know how the weapons flow in unison and interdependently of one other you can extend that to single weapon, knife, double knife, espada y daga, and our empty hand (Pagamont) set.

We went through and broke down the entire El Septimo Sello form this morning. Everyone is doing g great on it and we will continue to work on it until everyone can demonstrate it with proficiency.

Galleon Clan Escrima class this morning was great! We covered the basics strikes (punches, elbows, kicks) of the Pagamont subset as well as the three main entries (close the door, open the door, point to heaven) with a few follow ups.
