Congratulations to our X10 archers who earned podium finishes in the HLSR Archery competition!

A special high five for Emily Luo! 🫶
After winning the gold at last year’s HLSR shoot, Emily was looking forward to the competition season ahead. Unfortunately, a severe break in her arm on New Year’s Day put those plans on hold for a while.
Despite surgeries and a long recovery, Emily persevered. She continued attending JGAP, even learning to shoot with a mouth tab!
More recently, she had been practicing at 10 yards for the upcoming SYWAT season. With another surgery scheduled, the HLSR shoot wasn’t on her radar.
Then at the last minute, her surgery was postponed. Emily decided she was going to shoot the Rodeo!
Registration had closed, but with a little help, we managed to get her entered.
Coach Lynda wasn’t convinced that this was a good idea, considering Emily hadn’t been shooting at full distance, her endurance wasn’t quite where it needed to be, and her arrows needed re-fletching!
But Emily’s pleading eyes managed to soften even Coach Lynda’s heart, and we were off to the races.
And she took GOLD! 🥇
Well done, Emily. What a demonstration of perseverance, determination, and the willingness to face a challenge. We’re proud of you!
A special mention for Adeline Oliver (Addi)!
Competing in her first competition outside of X10, Addi absolutely dominated the qualification round in the Recurve Junior Female division, finishing in first place!
In a wonderful twist, Addi found herself going head-to-head with her great friend and training partner, Emily, in the semifinals. For those few arrows they were competitors!
Emily advanced to the gold medal match, while Addi finished fourth overall.
What a great showing from both young ladies, and a reminder that competition isn’t just about medals. It’s about challenging ourselves, supporting one another, and growing through experience.
