The second week of JGAP is going strong at X10 Archery Academy!

This week we expanded on one of the three aspects from last week: self-awareness. Coach Lynda split the class into 2 groups and had everyone focusing on either stretch band work or blank-bale shooting, then switching out.

An exciting opportunity has presented itself for one of our X10 para athletes — and it could become part of a much bigger journey toward LA28.

Candice Caesar, one of only two U.S. athletes currently competing on the national team in the Para Recurve Women division, is working toward the opportunity to represent the United States at the 2028 Paralympic Games in Los Angeles.

Right now, the U.S. has one Paralympic quota spot available in Candice’s division. Her goal is to help earn an additional spot so that both U.S. athletes have the opportunity to compete at LA28. One important step on that road is the 2027 Parapan American Games in Lima, Peru.

Candice is no stranger to international competition. At the 2023 Pan American Games in Santiago, she earned gold in the mixed team event with Eric Bennett and an individual bronze medal.

With U.S. team staff resources limited, having X10 Head Coach Kat Stiegel in Peru would give Candice the additional coaching support she needs to prepare, compete, and perform at her highest level.

We’ve created a fundraiser to help cover Kat’s travel and competition-related expenses so she can be there alongside Candice.

Candice knows she still has to earn her place through performance. Our goal is simply to help make sure she has every reasonable opportunity to do exactly that.

This last JOAD/AAP session was a full line, which is a great time to remind members about lane reservations!

Please remember to reserve your member lane, you get priority if we fill up and you learn ahead of time if it’s okay to come in 😎
