Ever talk yourself out of moving your body?
I do it too.
Despite teaching yoga and movement classes, there are plenty of days when I’d rather stay home with a good book than head to the gym or my mat.
But here’s what I’ve noticed: I have never finished a workout, yoga class, or walk and regretted it.
What I do regret sometimes is not going.
Recently, I skipped a workshop I was considering attending, and afterward I found myself wishing I had gone. Not because it would have been perfect. Not because I would have performed at my best. Simply because I know I feel better when I show up for myself and move.
The goal isn’t perfection. The goal is participation.
If you’re waiting to feel motivated before you move, consider this your reminder: you don’t have to feel like it to benefit from it.
Go move your body. Your future self will thank you. ❤️

I recently took a Level 1 class at the studio where I did my yoga training, and it honestly felt magical 💚
The sequencing, the energy, the humor… it was such a beautiful blend of everything that makes a class feel special.
But if I’m being real, I also left comparing myself. Wondering why I can’t teach exactly like someone else I admire.
And then this morning it hit me:
I’m not supposed to teach like anyone else.
I didn’t come to yoga with their experience.
I came with mine.
My classes are different because I’m different - and maybe that’s the whole point.
So instead of using comparison to tear myself down, I’m trying to use inspiration to grow.
Working on cheering myself on a little more and criticizing myself a little less 💫
Anyone else learning this lesson too?
I’ve been quiet on here for a bit.
Not because I didn’t have anything to say, but because I was overthinking how to say it.
So here’s my reset:
One minute.
One thought.
One real moment before class.
Yoga has always taught me that consistency matters more than perfection… so that’s the energy I’m going to bring here too ✨

Brain-Derived Neurotrophic Factor (BDNF) is a protein involved in neuron survival, synaptic plasticity, and learning.
A substantial body of research shows that physical exercise increases circulating BDNF levels. Higher BDNF is associated with improved memory, cognitive function, and mood regulation.
Because yoga combines physical effort with sustained attention and coordination, it may support brain health through similar biological pathways. Research specifically examining yoga and BDNF is still developing, but the overlap is compelling.
Movement done with awareness supports more than muscles.

Lately I’ve been thinking about the balance between pushing and accepting.
Some days ask more of us.Some days ask us to simply show up.
Both matter.
I shared a few thoughts on this in my latest blog - along with how the “room you’re in” can change how you show up in your workouts.
If you’ve ever wondered whether to push or ease up, this one might resonate.

Behind the scenes 🎬 Not everything makes the final video. In fact, none of these videos made the final cut. Some of these exercises didn’t even make it in. But it’s all part of the process of building something easily accessible and adjustable for my clients. So I test and rework. And they get to build strength safely.

Today was the first day of our Be Strong 6-week program. Every Friday we meet online and we get stronger. 8 exercises. 12 reps each. 3 sets. 💪 I am so very honored that y’all trust me with your health. And I am so very impressed with the people that showed up and did the hard work. 🙌
Push Up progression part 2 is here! Strength isn’t about doing the hardest version - it’s about practicing the right version consistently 💪
