C. E. King High School’s Criminal Justice Career Technical Student Organization (CTSO) delivered an impressive showing at the Texas Public Safety Association (TPSA) State Conference, competing against more than 101 high schools from across the state. Their performance, marked by top placements and near-perfect scores, should make the school community feel proud and recognized for their hard work. Students earned 6 top-five placements, including 3rd place in Drone NIST with a near-perfect score of 98.000 pts and 5th place in Opening Statement with 91.500 pts, showcasing excellence in both tactical and courtroom-based events. These results reflect the program’s commitment to preparing students for real-world public safety careers through rigorous training and hands-on experience.

A historic Panther win for the CE King Engineering & Unmanned Systems Program. In our inaugural competitive season, our cross-curricular KHS Drone Team secured 3rd Place Overall in the State of Texas at the Texas Public Safety Association (TPSA) State Conference.
Our students competed in the Drone NIST (National Institute of Standards and Technology) Open Lane course. It is vital to note that the NIST course is the exact, standardized skills test utilized by the Department of Homeland Security and federal agencies to credential actual emergency responder pilots.
By successfully executing these high-stakes tactical flight maneuvers under intense competitive pressure, our students proved they possess elite mastery of their FAA Part 107 regulations.
This state-level victory provides our students with a direct workforce pipeline experience beyond the walls of the classroom. It is the direct result of our innovative collaboration between the Engineering and Criminal Justice CTE programs, bridging the gap between STEM and Public Safety.
Panthers are proving that our CE King vocational ecosystem is actively producing elite, industry-ready professionals. Congratulations on this historic win!
