G'day and Welcome to the Houston Lonestars Australian Football Club! Australian Football also known as “Footy” is an active team sport for people of all ages and gender to keep fit in a fun, social environment. It is Australia's national sport, however is growing world-wide and has a strong presence in the USA with some 48 teams in various cities under the USAFL. The Houston Lonestars is a community oriented sporting/social club, made up of mostly Americans & Aussies from all sporting backgrounds, who enjoy participating in one of the world’s greatest team sports. We are looking for guys and girls of all ages, shapes and sizes, to come and learn one of the best team sports around. We offer a variety of options for organized competition including Ausball, a social co-ed “touch” form of the game, as well as full contact teams that compete in local games as well as against teams across America. The club also offers kids clinics and encourages teens and juniors to develop into senior football. The Lonestars pride ourselves on our social focus, aiming to bring the diverse Houston community together and provide an opportunity to meet new people and network. In fact you don’t need to play the sport to be involved in our club. We welcome all supporters and spectators who enjoy watching an exciting sport and participating in fun socials and events at various hot spots around H-town including our sponsors. Don't miss our huge AFL Grandfinal Party at The Phoenix each year in late September! Come have a kick or a cold b**r with us - it's always a good time!
