Eight years of waiting ended with a 701.5-pound Minnesota black bear. Calvin Wield sent me these pictures after finally getting a shot at a bear he says he had been watching come and go for eight years. The way he always knew it was the same bear was a distinctive split ear, and this morning that old bear finally gave him an opportunity. When they put it on the scale, it came in at 701.5 pounds. As Calvin put it, “Good things come to those who wait.”
