When we started FLAG, the goal was simple: give my daughter and her friends a place to train with like-skilled players, coached by amazing women in the game. Over the years, it grew into something bigger—a community that welcomed all girls at all skill levels.

Now, seeing so many girls-only camps in our main locations makes me proud. Maybe FLAG helped spark that movement. 💙 As the saying goes: imitation is the sincerest form of flattery.

This summer marked our final FLAG season. My daughter is now a high school freshman, and it’s time to close this chapter. With heavy hearts, we say goodbye—but with so much gratitude for the players, parents, and coaches who made FLAG what it is.

From rocking FLAG jerseys at practice to spotting sweatshirts “in the wild,” the memories will always stay with us. 🏒

FLAG Hockey is a summer training program dedicated to girls under 15, aiming to enhance their hockey skills while fostering personal growth and confidence. The program offers high-quality on-ice training led by accomplished female coaches, creating an environment where every skater feels supported and inspired to reach their full potential. 

• Mission: To nurture a love for hockey while enhancing on-ice skills and empowering players to grow as individuals. 
• Camp Locations: Hudson, Cottage Grove, and Hastings.
• Leadership: Mira Jalosuo, an Olympic medalist and former University of Minnesota player, leads the program, bringing her experience and passion to inspire young athletes. 
• Community: The program emphasizes building a supportive community where girls can thrive both as players and future leaders.

Congratulations again to all the FLAG coaches on UWRF Women’s team we are all very proud of you!

On their home ice, the University of Wisconsin-River Falls women’s hockey team defeated Amherst College 3-1 on Sunday to capture their second consecutive NCAA Division III Women’s Hockey championship. The victory marked the first time a Division III women’s hockey program has won back-to-back national titles since Plattsburgh State did so in 2016 and 2017.

All three of UW-River Falls’ goals came in the second period. Goalie Jordan O’Kane had 16 saves in net for the Falcons.

UWRF is a combined 57-3-2 over the past two championship seasons, going 26-3-2 this season and 31-0 in 2024.
