2024 AAU Referee Clinic

Who: Anyone interested in being an AAU Referee for the 2024 season

What: AAU Officials’ Certification Clinic (Hands-On training only)

Where: Asian Sun 5837 Darrow Rd., Hudson, OH 44236

When: Saturday, January 20th, 2024 from 12:00-3:00 PM

Why: You must be certified for the 2024 season to referee AAU events

What you need before the Clinic:

1. Update your AAU, non-athlete membership for 2024. Go to www.aautaekwondo.org

2. Complete the Officials Online Course for Forms, Point Sparring, and Olympic Sparring (Sport Poomsae is optional). Go to https://aautaekwondo.org/page.php?page_id=124567to take the course and FOLLOW ALL OF THE INSTRUCTIONS. Bring copies of your course certificates to the clinic to show you have completed the online courses.

3. Sign up for the referee clinic at 2024 AAU Referee Clinic (sparkpages.io)

AAU Ohio- This year we are so fortunate to have more than one AAU event in our state!

For years, we were only able to have one Ohio. AAU championship, but now we are able to have-

Ohio District Championship in Cincinnati hosted by Grandmaster Rob Gerhardt on April 6th

as well as a

Super Regional Championship hosted by me in Akron Ohio on May 4th

Most of you don’t know this, but Ohio actually has two districts for AAU… The Lake Erie District which is the Cleveland, Akron, Erie PA, and Toledo areas and the Ohio district which is the Columbus, Dayton, and Cincinnati areas.

Everyone is free to compete in any district that they like, and by having more than one championship it will give everyone more chances to prepare for nationals!

Mix this in with the other amazing championships that we have in Region 6-

Michigan on March 9th by Master Alexander Covert

and

Indiana on June 1 by Masters Eric Waterman Necker and Kristin Waterman

And

A forms and weapons championship in Kentucky sometime in February with Master Sarah Napier

we have one of the strongest regions in the country!
