Your body is not something that needs to be fixed.
I have the words “Thank you, body” written on the board in our studio every day.
And if you’ve taken class with me, you know we say it a lot.
Usually it’s right when things are getting hard. When your legs are shaking and you’re thinking, “Oh my gosh, this is HARD,” I’ll remind you…
“Thank you, body!”
We laugh when we say it, but I mean it. Every single time.
Because the older I get, the more I realize what a gift it is to have a body that allows us to move through this life.
A body that carries us through busy days, hard seasons, celebrations, stress, change, and everything in between.
Movement doesn’t have to be punishment for what you ate or a way to change what you see in the mirror.
Movement can simply be gratitude.
A way of saying, “Thank you for carrying me. Thank you for letting me do this.”
One of my greatest joys is getting to guide people through that movement every day. But the part I love most isn’t the workout.
It’s watching someone walk out of the studio a little taller.
A little prouder.
A little more confident because they did something for themselves.
You don’t need to earn the right to feel good about your body.
You are already enough.
And maybe today, instead of thinking about what you want to change, you can appreciate one thing your body allows you to do.
If you’re saying “thank you, body” with me today, leave a ❤️ below.
Thank you, body. For all of it.
