In honor of International Dance Day yesterday, here's a throwback to 2018 when our studio had our surprise party for our owner Vikki Gale for her 20th anniversary of belly dancing! Vikki's helped so many of us find our passion for dancing through her classes

The fun of Art of the Belly might be done, but that doesn't mean more fun isn't coming soon! We'll be hosting Elizabeth Khardikova this summer as part of her headlining this year's show and registration for her classes is officially open!

The East coast is still winding down from 2026's Art of the Belly, and a lot of Tribal Bellies students got to take the stage this year! Always great to see our dancers getting to perform at the major events and festivals

A lot of the area's belly dance community came out for the Beats Antique show in Ardmore on Wednesday, including a lot of Tribal Bellies members! It might be a snow storm this weekend, but for this night everyone was fired up for a really fun show. Can't ask for a better way to get going with belly dance in 2026 than seeing Zoe Jakes, Joanna Abel, and Pixie Fordtears in action to inspire everyone!
Merry Christmas to everyone in the belly dance community from Tribal Bellies! Here's a flashback to last year's set in Christmas Village where we performed on perhaps one of the chilliest days in our history of doing this performance. Everyone was quick to get their coats on after they were done this performance!
After our first winter storm yesterday, it brings back memories of one of the winter shows our studio used to look forward to: Vortex! This was the last iteration of it nearly six years ago thanks to Covid (boo!) and our studio members always had a few appearances in the lineup. Check out those level changes from Laura and Ashley!

Tribal Bellies had as much fun as always with past and current members performing at another one of the haflas from Carmen Bellydance this past weekend! Natalie, Irene, and Chris all performed, as well as Rebecca who performed at her first hafla in several years! It was an incredible lineup throughout the show

Congratulations to Jessica Lynne Small on the success of her theatrical belly dance show, Arcana, on Saturday! A lot of Tribal Bellies members came out to enjoy it, and our own All-Father got to perform, along with many other friends of the studio. It was such a talented and creative lineup!
I want to take a moment to thank each and every movement artist for the magic they brought to the stage last night. Arcana was a true success, and it was only possible because of their talent, dedication, and passion.
They created an unforgettable experience for the audience. The hard work they put into rehearsals, their costuming, their musicality… I couldn’t be prouder of what we created together. They all fully understood the assignment and embodied what Arcana is all about: fusion, storytelling, and connection.
Thank you again to the performers for their artistry, collaboration, and for being part of this journey. I’m so grateful to work alongside such a talented and passionate group of humans.
A special thanks to my husband for running all the music and dealing with my anxiety; to Kat for flying in for the show from Michigan. My friends who traveled from other states to sit in our seats for a little while. My family who came through. Pete for stepping in as our emcee and absolutely killing it. The Williams Center for believing in my vision and housing us.
More to say, but my brain is still mush.
Until 2026.
xoxo Jessi
