Tim McIntosh: The Man, The Myth, The Legend
St. John Bosco High School Cross Country and Track & Field
11/05/2016
Congratulations to your Brave Cross Country squad who today captured League Title number 21! The Streak is alive and well.
Track and Field anyone?
For the 14th season in a row the St. John Bosco cross-country team will compete in the CIF-Southern Section finals.
Tomorrow morning at Mt. SAC at 10AM the boys will toe the line in hopes of earning a spot into the CIF State Finals. The top 7 teams make state; in 14 straight finals appearances, the Braves have only been out of the top 7 twice (finishing 8th in 05 and 07).
Advancing this season will be a challenge, not because the squad isn't running great, but because this is as deep as field that Division III has seen in a long time!
Come support our Braves in their quest for a 6th straight State appearance!
CONGRATULATIONS:
To 2012 Alumni Danny Martinez who today earned NCAA West All-Region honors for finishing in 23rd place in the West-Regional race in Sacramento! His 10k time of 30:22 placed him 23rd overall and as the 4th man on his Portland Pirates squad!

Thanks to all the former cross country alumni that came out to support the Braves on their quest for #20! It was great to see former runners - from former league champions to members of CIF and State winning teams to managers. Everyone is and will always be part of our family!

The Braves win 20th league title in a row.
The St. John Bosco Braves Varsity picked the right time to have their best race of the season as they placed 4 runners in the top 10 and all 7 in the top 20. Orange Lutheran gave the Braves a strong challenge, but the Braves managed to race in a tighter pack to turn their opponents away with a score of 29-41.
Leading the way was Senior and newly crowned Trinity League Champion Gustavo Gonzalez - rebounding nicely from a sub par Mt. SAC race to finish in a time of 15:25. Junior Branden Estrada has been the Braves consistent factor all season and was here once again as he finished in 3rd at 15:31. Senior Josh Lopez continued his late season flourish with a 6th place time of 15:58. Junior Carlos Barrios followed in 7th in 16:06. In only his 2nd Varsity race this season, junior Josh Chavez stepped up to prove himself a more than capable 5th man as he finished in 12th at 16:15 and out kicking Orange Lutherans 5th man by .6 seconds! Rounding out the top 7 for the Braves were Seniors Kevin Rodriguez in 16:30 and and Noe Cano in 16:37!
With number 20 officially in the books the Braves now look toward the post season as they attempt to collect more championship hardware!
