Race day has a funny way of flying by. One minute you’re standing at the start line soaking it all in, and the next, you’re crossing the finish line wondering where the time went.

So take the selfie. High-five your friends. Look around. Soak in the crowd, the course, the ocean, the energy, and all the little moments that make race day special. Because even when those miles feel very long, the day itself will be over before you know it. And you’ll be glad you took a few moments to be present and capture the memories along the way. 📸

We spend a lot of time talking about the runners, the course, and the finish line, but what’s a race without the people cheering you along the way?

From clever signs to cowbells, high-fives, and someone yelling your name when you need it most, spectators bring an energy to race day that you just can’t create without them. And honestly, we think “I also love attention” might be one of our favorite spectator signs we've seen out there.

Race day has been feeling far away, but now it feels like something you can actually start to picture: the sunrise over Huntington Beach, the energy at the start line, the miles along PCH, and the moment you see the finish line and realize all those training runs were worth it.

Not every runner is chasing a PR. Some are chasing a finish line, a comeback, a first marathon, or simply the feeling of accomplishing something they once thought was impossible.

But if there’s a race where a PR might be on the table, Surf City Marathon is a pretty good place to try. Flat roads, ocean views, and miles along Pacific Coast Highway make it one of those courses where fast feels possible.

One of the best things about Surf City Marathon weekend is that every runner brings something different to the course. Some are chasing a PR, some are checking a race off their bucket list, some are running with friends, and some are simply proving to themselves that they still can (because there's no age limit on doing hard things!)

This is your reminder that the running community has a place for everyone, and that the finish line is always worth celebrating. Here’s to many more miles, many more finish lines, and many more moments like this!
