We are officially into the summertime with warmer waters and no more morning gloom. July 4th was a good time. Happy 250th USA!

The 28th Annual Surfside 70’s is on Saturday at the Surfside water tower. Fun event to surf or watch.

Stop by and say hi this Sunday as we grab a quick bite to eat at Zack’s by the Pier. The quick meeting at 11:30am will kick off the World Cup finals and Surfing’ Sundays after lunch at noontime.
Lot’s of fun planned for the afternoon after we pay our respects to the HBLC members who have passed. Pick your favorite venue to watch the game or pull it up on your phone and watch Surfing’ Sundays live.

Paul Strauch paddle out on July 22, 2026 at Doheny that starts at 3pm with paddle out at 5pm.

The US Open is coming up quickly with lots of things going on during that week including the Surfing Walk of Fame and Surfing Hall of Fame induction ceremonies on Thursday and Friday of the US Open week: July 25-August 2.
New HBISM location will open on July 24, 2026 at the HB Library. This is a new partnership with the City and the Surf Museum to provide a free venue for those wanting to dig further into the rich history of surfing that exists for those wanting to understand its legacy.

The HBLC Surf Team is heading to Oceanside August 8-9, 2026. Sign up deadline is July 20, 2026. Terry and Seahag are signed up for the event. Derek will not be coming out and the rest are still waiting to enter.
Sign up on live heats dot com for free. If you enter the event you will not be charged the entry until you get a heat. You can cancel it before the deadline passes. If you need help entering then let us know.

Friday night we’re hosting a Private Showing at The California Surf Museum for competitors and family members at no charge.

Our Team Captains/Presidents meeting is Friday at The Surf Museum time TBD.

Food and product vendors will be on-site all three days with Live Music in the bandshell for your enjoyment.

Saturday night, we’re hosting dinner in the bandshell for all competitors.

We’ll be collecting non-perishable food donations all weekend for Got Your Back San Diego.

We are having our monthly gathering at Zack's this Sunday. Join us at noon for some brief announcements regarding the surf club for interested members and guests. We are planning trips to Doheny, San Onofre, Malibu and Oceanside.

Upcoming local events include Surfin' Sundays this Sunday on the Northside and the Surfside 70's event this Saturday at the Sunset Beach/Surfside Water Tower.

On behalf of the Oceanside Longboard Surfing Club, I'm pleased to invite you to our 41st Annual OLSC Contest and Beach Festival at the Oceanside Pier August 7th-9th.
Coalition Club surfing will officially begin on Saturday, August 8th. The King & Queen of the Pier Pro/Am Invitational is on Friday, August 7th, with finals only on Saturday.
Proceeds from the event help us continue to support The California Surf Museum, Scholastic Surf Series, and local surf teams, including Oceanside Middle School, Oceanside High School, El Camino High School, Valley Middle School, and Carlsbad High School.
We’ll be collecting non-perishable food donations all weekend for Got Your Back San Diego. Registration is Open to Team Captains on Live Heats (same as VSC & SCLU's Awesome events!) OR surfers can register directly liveheats.com/events/502473/registration by selecting Your Club from the drop-down menu, and they'll be added to your team's roster automatically. Please register as soon as possible 🙏, and that will allow me to add more heats if time is available. All entries will be confirmed and charged $135 on the July 17th deadline. Alternates may be added to open spots once heats are closed on a first-come, first-served basis. Please note that refunds will not be given for no-shows.

Saturday night, we’re hosting a complimentary Luau dinner in the bandshell area for all competitors. Family members are invited to join us for an additional fee.
G-STRONG Paddle Race in honor of our Legendary Captain Gretchen Harris will consist of six competitors, including one junior and one female. We may add a Tandem heat for Fun and Free if there’s enough interest.
All divisions will be judged using Ride Quality Recorder (RQR) rules, with an emphasis on nose riding, rail surfing, speed, power, and flow. All heats, including finals, will consist of 6 competitors for 15 minutes, with the top 2 waves tabulated. All contestants must check in 15 minutes before their heat to sign a waiver.
