Auburn Cycles was a BMX frame and bicycle brand founded in 1988. Auburn Cycles was founded in 1988 by Todd Huffman and Bob Morales.
The project was originally going to be a Honda branded product that Huffman had pitched to Honda Motor Corp., but at the last minute Honda decided not to license out their name to a BMX bike company. With the product already developed and ready to go into production, Huffman and Morales decided to continue the project and just use a different name. Huffman came up with the name Auburn from a 1930'

As most of you already know, SE Racing founder and BMX Legend Scot Breithaupt recently passed away and his services were this weekend.
Scot and SE Racing were a BIG part of the inspiration to create Auburn Cycles back in 1987. Co-Founder Todd Huffman was a long time rider and employee of SE Racing, and his Auburn partner Bob Morales was heavily influenced by Scot and SE racing in his early days of BMX racing. Scot's original, creative innovations in frame design inspired Todd & Bob in the design of the first 2-piece modular Auburn frames.
R.I.P. Scot. You will be missed, but never forgotten.
