Hello everyone, my name is Brad Cochran. I'm very pleased and grateful to accept the role as head coach for the upcoming River City Rampage 11U baseball team. The River City Rampage has been a well known and respected organization in the region for many years and it is apparent how much the organization truly cares about the kids, families and communities in the area.
While this is my first direct interaction with River City Rampage, I’ve enjoyed competing against them in tournaments over the last few years and I’ve always been impressed with their kids’ respect for the game of baseball, their coaches and their competitors on the field. When an opportunity to take over the coaching role for the 11U team came up, it was a pretty easy decision, but one I didn’t take lightly. I look forward to working with the Rampage leadership and building a team of young men to compete with some of the best teams around!
I have a beautiful and supportive wife Brittany! She’ll be the Team DJ for pregame pump up music and in-game walkup jams for the boys. Together we have 2 sons, Isaiah and Jacob, and 2 dogs, Raja and Max. I have degrees from WVU and Marshall and for the last 8 years I’ve worked as the Director of Business Development for Patriot Guardens, a program of the WV National Guard.
My coaching experience includes Little League and Travel Ball. I’ve been in multiple coaching roles at Winfield Little League and also with the Hit Tankz 10/11U and Winfield Legends 8U. My playing experience included varsity baseball at Ripley High School where I was part of the State Championship team in 2004.
My goals for the River City Rampage 11U baseball team is first and foremost to instill a love and respect for the game of baseball. We’ll also focus on developing skills, raising a level of confidence and then taking these things to the field where we’ll compete each weekend we’re on the field to win championships! Beyond the championships, I’ll deem my coaching of this group successful if they become good young men on and off the field and someone their families and friends would be proud of!
