✨ Casting Day at LIYB ✨

Casting Day is always filled with excitement, anticipation, nerves, and big dreams. For our dancers, it’s a moment to celebrate the roles they’ve worked so hard for and an important part of their journey as young artists. 🩰🤍

But there is something we believe is just as important as the role you receive — the people standing beside you.

At Long Island Youth Ballet, we hold the camaraderie between our dancers incredibly close to our hearts. Watching students cheer for one another, celebrate each other’s accomplishments, offer encouragement when things don’t go as hoped, and genuinely be happy for their friends is something truly special.

Because ballet is not only about becoming a stronger dancer. It’s about becoming a stronger person, teammate, and friend.

There will always be different roles, different opportunities, and different moments in the spotlight. But the friendships, memories, and support our dancers build along the way are what make a school feel like a family. 🤍

We are so proud of the way our LIYB dancers continue to lift each other up. Your success does not take away from someone else’s — there is room for everyone to shine. ✨

Long Island Youth Ballet is opening an exclusive opportunity for 4 advanced dancers, ages 11–15, to join our Snow & Flower Corps de Ballet for our 2026 Nutcracker season — with the potential to continue into the spring production of Peter and the Wolf. 🌹❄️

☀️ Our LIYB Summer Ballet Program begins THIS Tuesday, July 14th! 🩰✨

Keep your dancer moving, growing, and inspired this summer with our Ballet Technique & Pre-Pointe Training. Designed for both Primary (ages 6–8) and Beginner (ages 8–12) students, our summer classes focus on building strong technique, confidence, flexibility, artistry, and a solid foundation for the upcoming season. Beginner Pointe/Pre-Pointe is included for eligible students!

📅 Tuesdays & Thursdays beginning July 14th
🩰 Primary: 5:30–6:30 PM
🩰 Beginner: 6:30–8:00 PM

Join us for a magical morning of Ballet Creative Movement designed especially for children ages 3–4. Through music, imagination, stories, and dance, your little one will build confidence, coordination, creativity, and a love for movement in a fun and nurturing environment.

Congratulations to all of our students and incredible guest artists on a beautiful and successful run of The Swan Princess and George Gershwin’s Who Cares. The dedication, commitment, and hard work displayed throughout this production did not go unnoticed. ⭐️We are incredibly proud of the caliber of dancing presented on stage and the intensity, artistry, and integrity each performer brought to every rehearsal and performance.✨

As we close out another wonderful season, our Advanced and Intermediate students will continue their training over the next few weeks before heading off to summer programs at Central Pennsylvania Youth Ballet (CPYB) and Alvin Ailey in New York City.🌟

A special congratulations to Abigail Van Horn, Scarlett Monterroso, Zara McKelvey, Kayleigh Moore, Adeline Schumacher, London Graham, and Cailin Granelli (not pictured). We are so proud of your accomplishments and excited to watch you continue to grow.💫

Our season may be winding down, but we look forward to welcoming our Primary, Beginner, and visiting students for summer classes beginning in July. Thank you to our families, audience members, and supporters for another memorable year of dance! ☀️
