Hamptons with 🙌🏼☀️

So grateful for this woman! Nikki and I met in 2007 - I found her in a Hofstra facebook group while looking for a roommate. I’ll never remember how she helped me switch rooms & join her suite with the best women ever which changed the entire trajectory of my life. I thank God for these beautiful times with beautiful friends. Cheers to many more!

Leadership is the opportunity to serve others, not control them. Our tendency to control is one that I’ve had a lot of conversations about recently…

There is one person at all times which you are in control of, and that’s you. But most of us live out of control and out of touch with our truth, and our lives. To control ourselves, and focus on ourselves, and to work on ourselves… sometimes seems to painful or hard.

“I’d rather control them…” says the ego.
“They need to change or else I won’t be happy.” says the ego.
“If I’m not number 1, I’m not good enough.” says the ego.

And these thoughts don’t just stop by and leave - they stick with you. Control becomes part of your false operating system; you begin to feel like you NEED to control things or else… it’s all going to come crashing down and it’ll be all your fault.

Working on yourself IS The quality of a leader. It’s the service to show up as your highest self, so that you can magnify that in others and reflect back to them their potential and not their flaws.

We do this as people.
We do this as parents.
We do this as leaders - leading our selves first.

I hope this reminds you to focus inward when you feel like your control on things is keeping you out of control. There’s a heaviness that comes from putting oneself under pressure for too long.

Reach out if you need some direction. You are not alone!
