We give people the tools they need for a capable body without restraint of weakness or stiffness.
Our facility is here to develop a full movement practice – this includes researching & obtaining strength through vast tools starting with the body, physical intelligence creating the ability to create body language with partners, rhythm and reaction so you can fully express yourself, hand-balancing, locomotion patterns, and constantly growing with our knowledge so you can grow with yours.

Meet: Sarah!
Sarah joined Locomotion in February of 23’ looking to get in shape and start feeling good in her body. She started with our 12-session onboarding program and started working on squats, all sorts of planks, exercises for the spine, and more.
Fast forward a few months, and I get amazing texts like these...
Most of us just want to feel better in our daily activities and not be held back by pain or inability. Something as simple as being able to stand up from a low position without struggle, or enjoy outdoor activities without fear of failure or an achy back…
Sarah - we are so proud of you, and can’t wait to see what future progress is in store!
Interested in your own success story? Shoot us a message to learn more about how we solve issues like creaky knees, stiff lower backs, and general meh feeling in our bodies :)
RESOURCEFULNESS!
If you watch our videos and feel paralyzed by fears of:
“My body would break.”
“I’m not strong enough for that.”
“I’m not flexible enough.”
Let Nina demonstrate some resourcefulness of going from:
“I can’t pull myself up to this bar.”
To
“Let me figure out how I could pull myself up to this bar.”
This is why I feel this type of work superior to traditional fitness.
Modern fitness poses no questions. It solves the problem for you.
Go up and down, just like this. Nope! Out of alignment. Try again. Yes, there you have it…our ONE technique.
Any climber, dancer, seasoned practitioner of any kind will be able to tell you, while techniques are useful, they can actually stunt progress if we rob individuals of their resourcefulness to solve new problems.
Yes, our classes look different. It’s because we are the only “gym” on Long Island posing interesting questions.
Interested in interesting questions?
Take the deep dive today - message us “more info” to learn how we can help.
The bridge is seen as one of those positions that is impossible for anyone who is not a child. We’ve had students over 50, students with “bad backs”, and students who don’t remember doing a single bridge in their life ALL work on this pattern pain free; all while making improvements.
There is no secret - just scaling the pattern to allow your spine to do what it is built to do, extend globally. We do this through various tools that involve active flexibility work, strength & stability work in the shoulders, and direct & targeted spine work to bring awareness to “stuck” areas.
Interested in upgrading your spine & your movement potential? Send us a message - or a video of your bridge for feedback!

Strength Class building week to week on their Back Squats & Chin up volume!
Real strength takes time to build - so if you aren’t spending at least 30 minutes of class slowing down & focusing on:
✅ Heavy sets with great technique
✅ Plenty of rest, following heavy efforts of course
✅ Progressive overload week to week through quality note taking
Then you simply won’t make the type of progress that you could!
Here are the biggest mistakes we see in group “strength” training:
❌ Circuit style with minimal rest
❌ Reps are inconsistent & the focus is on lots of reps, but not at the proper intensity (load) required
❌ Not going heavy enough to induce proper response
If you are looking to build strength, we can help. Send us a message to let us know what you’d like to improve your strength in, and why!
Kyle moving through his Handstand practice 🤸
Everyone in our handstand sessions works at their own level & pace, with clear & objective standards and markers for progress.
With a notebook, a good attitude, and enough attention to detail, we can take you from 0 to 60s handstand. We’ve now done it with dozens of students, and even more who have at least achieved their first kick up.
Here are a few ways you can start studying with us, or even simply training Handstand with us;
✅ Private Sessions (30-60 min)
✅ Semi-Private Sessions (2-5 people)
✅ Group Classes (Multiple times per week available)
Let us know which works best for you and we can help get you started!
Students tackling our Rings programming - building upper body strength through fundamental pushing & pulling patterns!

❌ Training with no long term plan
We can help.
Message us to learn how we can help you:
✅ Build strength through process, reliably
✅ Overcome weakness & instability in the shoulder complex
✅ Have fun and meet new people while doing it
We hope to see you there!
