Expression Prep Academy is proud to announce Coach Ty Holmes as our new Head Coach for Boys Varsity Basketball.

With more than 20 years of coaching experience, Coach Holmes has made an impact at Huntington St. Joseph Central Catholic High School, Huntington Prep, and Huntington High School, where he was a member of the 2017 West Virginia State Championship coaching staff.

Beyond the wins, Coach Holmes is known for developing young men of character, discipline, accountability, faith, and excellence. A respected leader in our community and an Assistant Pastor at The Glorious Church of God in Christ, he is passionate about helping student-athletes grow on the court, in the classroom, and in their walk through life.

Coach Holmes and his wife, Demeley, are the proud parents of four children, and we are honored to welcome their family to ours.

About me: Ever since my first word (Ball) I have always known that basketball is what I wanted to pursue. I have traveled all over the country playing this game I love so deeply, and through that I have grown as a man! After graduating from Alaska Fairbanks with my undergrad I had an opportunity to play in Malta Italy and turned it down so I could pursue a masters degree in business where I ended up injuring both of my ankles and losing my opportunity to follow my dreams. In this I remained honest and steadfast and learned the business side of sports! Now my new dream in life is to actually prepare kids for the business side of sports, have them mentally, physically, and professionally prepared for whatever level they seek to play! A great coach once told me at some point in every athletes life, the ball will deflate, what will you do next! My purpose in life is to help kids and young aspiring athletes to understand their purpose, to understand why they play and who they play for! BAM is what I lead by. BELIEVE! ACHIEVE! MOTIVATE!

About me: I have always loved and cherished the game of basketball. For me basketball was more than just a sport it was my escape from reality. I didnt play school ball in West Virginia outside of the 6th & 9th grade teams. But I worked hard enough to get an opportunity to play D2 basketball at Simmons college of Kentucky. Which helped me play semi-pro for two seasons in the PBA with “Tennessee Speed” and “Chattanooga Spades”. Also helping me get exposure to play in the LMB in El Salvador for the club Lobos BKB.

A proud native of Baltimore, Maryland, Coach Coleman later made Bridgeport, West Virginia his home, where he attended Bridgeport High School before continuing his athletic career at Marshall University in both Football 🏈 and Track & Field 🏃‍♂️.

After college, Terrell settled in Portsmouth, Ohio, where he built a strong reputation as a coach with the Buckeye Storm AAU Basketball Program and most recently helped coach the Rock Hill High School Football Team.

Coach Coleman is passionate about developing more than basketball players. His mission is to help young men become:
