This top-tier recognition is the highest rating possible and is based on rigorous, unannounced lifeguard audits conducted throughout the season. These audits evaluate everything from lifeguard scanning and rescue skills to first aid, CPR, facility safety, and documentation. Earning a 5-star rating means Stingray Bay exceeds industry standards — and that’s no small feat!

The pool season is just around the corner, which makes this recent news regarding Stingray Bay Family Aquatic Center even more exciting!

Huntley Park District staff was informed that our lifeguards received the coveted 5-Star Award from Starguard Elite for 2024, the highest award available to clients based on performance in their unannounced lifeguard audits. Starguard Elite provides 3 audits a season. During these audits, which are performed 3 times per season, guards are recorded to assess their scanning skills. The auditor will then announce their presence and will test the guards on lifeguarding skills, such as first aid, CPR, and rescues. The auditor will also assess the facility for safety and documentation. According to Starguard Elite, 5-star is the highest rating that may be awarded, which categorizes an aquatic facility as exceeding the industry standards.
