Happy Fourth of July! 🇺🇸
HSOK was founded in 1988, teaching traditional Shotokan Karate. Class times are Mondays and Wednesdays from 3:30-6:30pm, stop by and visit!
HSOK is the longest-running karate school in Huntsville. Teaching traditional Shotokan karate, but implementing other styles of fighting to ensure proper self-defense in any situation(think MMA for the actual self-defense application). We do spar(controlled fighting) and use mild contact, to ensure the application of the techniques taught. Academic school comes first, at HSOK. As well as teaching respect, discipline, self-defense, and having FUN!

Happy Fourth of July! 🇺🇸
HSOK FAMILIES!
TONIGHT AT 7PM
I know it’s short notice and last minute. But HSOK has decided to participate in the first Fourth of July parade here in Huntsville. We will be pulling a horse drawn wagon, which we will be decorating later today. And we would love for any of our available karate kids to come and walk with us during the parade.
Wear your best RED WHITE AND BLUE REGALIA and please let Mrs. Winkelmann know if you will be able to join us. She will have time and location sent to you!

It is with heavy hearts that we share the passing of one of our Yodanshi and a valued member of the Huntsville School of Karate family; Bobby Nunez.
Throughout his 35 years in our dojo, Bobby exemplified what it means to be a martial artist. His work ethic was unmatched—he showed up, worked hard, and never backed down from a challenge. Whether he was training, helping a fellow student, or striving to improve himself, he did so with determination and humility.
But beyond his dedication to karate and our school, what we will remember most is his kind heart. He treated others with respect, encouraged those around him, and made our school a better place simply by being part of it. His presence touched the lives of many students, instructors, and friends.
While we mourn his loss, we are grateful for the time we had with him and the example he set for others. The lessons he taught through his actions—perseverance, respect, and kindness—will continue to live on within our dojo.
Please keep his family and loved ones in your thoughts and prayers during this difficult time.
Rest easy, Yodansha. Your legacy will not be forgotten.
"His Lord said unto him, well done good and faithful servant!" -
