Mike and his team at Madison county district 1 need a shout out for waste management. One of his guys noticed the cleanup this weekend and had all the trash picked up before I had a chance to call this morning. Your vigilance and responsibility exceeded our expectations and brought this whole team effort full circle!
BIG thank you from us and neighbors for ALL that you guys do!! You also make our world a better place!! 🤎🌎

Huge THANK YOU to the Keep the Flint River Clean folks for cleaning this river!! They put together a last minute cleanup and and battled extremely low water levels in canoes WITH 100’s of pounds of garbage in each. They pulled 16 tires, pool liner, floats, tubes, chairs, cushions, construction debris and everything else they came across. This group was fierce and their passion shows.
Thank you from the bottom of our Brown Bear hearts! You make our world a better place! 🤎

This weekend’s water levels are low. We will run the lower 8 mile route. It’s pretty low to start but gets better after the first few minutes. It always has enough water. Get here early to have time for the 8 miles.
Also if you are planning to travel hwy 72 to Brown Bear, keep The Trail of Tears in mind!
The hwy is expected to close around 9:00 and will reopen once all motorcycles have passed. 🪶
If you have never witnessed the Trail of Tears ride, I highly recommend tailgating along the corridor. What started as 2 guys with bikes wanting to honor those that walked and especially those that did not make it, has turned into tens of thousands of bikes. It’s truly amazing 🙏🏼

IntegraWater had planned to build a wastewater treatment plant near Madison County’s Berry Hill community in New Market. The plant would have been on the Flint River, a waterway used for kayaking, baptisms and other community activities.
