If you've ever finished a run at Monte Sano wishing there was a water fountain nearby, here's your chance to make that happen!

The Huntsville Area Mountain bike Riders (HAMR) is raising funds to install a freeze-resistant water fountain right next to the Scoble Pavilion at Monte Sano State Park. The location already has water lines in place, and it would serve hikers, runners, mountain bikers, road cyclists, and four legged trail companions alike.

HAMR have already secured funds for the fountain itself. The remaining goal is $9,200 to cover installation, and the station would be dedicated to the memory of Andrew Moffatt, a volunteer who led countless trail build and maintenance days at Monte Sano and gave back to the community by repairing and donating bikes to those in need.
This is a project that benefits everyone who uses the park. If you'd like to contribute, the link to donate is in the comments.

The June edition of The HTC Launch Pad is out now! If you're an HTC member, check your email inbox for your copy.

This month we're spotlighting the HTC Summer Cross Country Series, which returns to John Hunt Park every Tuesday evening starting this month. We sat down with two of North Alabama's top young runners, Jack Shattuck and Nora Allan, for a Q&A on their training, goals and what they love about the series. Races are free for HTC members, and one-time registration is all you need to participate all summer long.

Also in this issue: HTC president Brian Carter on finding the will to finish when a marathon goes sideways, HTC member Meghan Sottolano on completing her first 100-miler, a look back at one year of the Hays Farm parkrun, and more!
