Prairie Dunes Country Club

This week, Matthew Black and Stephen Tepper had the opportunity to learn from some of the best in the business at Sand Valley Resort during the USGA 45th Mid-Amateur Championship.

As volunteers with the grounds team, Matthew and Stephen gained hands-on experience with day-to-day tournament operations while also working alongside the USGA team on championship preparation and setup.

Opportunities like this are an important part of preparing our team for the future, especially as we look ahead to hosting the Senior Open. Learning firsthand from the USGA and experiencing championship-level preparation helps our team continue to grow, sharpen their skills and bring that knowledge home to Prairie Dunes.

We’re proud to invest in our team and the future of championship golf. ⛳

It’s “Thank A Super” Day so join us in showing appreciation to Cory and our incredible Turf Team especially after a stretch of 10 straight days of 100°+ temperatures here in Hutchinson. 🥵☀️

Keeping a golf course in championship condition is no easy task, and doing it through relentless heat takes an incredible amount of expertise, dedication and hard work.

Thank you, Cory, and the entire Turf Team, for everything you do to keep our course looking and playing its best. We appreciate you more than you know! 👏🌿

For the second consecutive year, Prairie Dunes has been ranked No. 13 in The LINKS 100, a ranking of the world’s top 100 golf courses determined exclusively by members of the world’s leading golf course architecture societies.

This recognition is a reflection of the timeless design of Perry and Press Maxwell, the natural beauty of the Kansas dunes, and the incredible work of our Turf Team who care for this course every day.

Their dedication, attention to detail and commitment to preserving the character of our course help make this place what it is. We’re incredibly proud of the team behind the scenes who keep all 18 holes looking and playing their best.

Thank you to LINKS Magazine and the architects who continue to recognize Prairie Dunes among the very best in the world.
