Hutto Hawgs Select Baseball

That’s a wrap on the Spring 2022 Hutto Hawgs season (yes, it’s mid-July 😂). Every season the dynamics are a little different but one thing remains the same… I sure do love coaching this group of boys. This has been a season of highs (4 straight championship game appearances early on) and lows. But every one of the boys on the team have shown improvement.

The season didn’t end the way we wanted it to but man if we didn’t give it our all. Finishing top 4 and just missing the Zone championship game is one heck of an accomplishment. Top 4 in the state of Texas!

I cannot tell you how many opposing coaches, fans, and even umpires who came up to us and congratulated us on our quarterfinal win against a very tough Deer Park team and told us how fun we are to watch and how great our boys are. Immediately after we lost in the semifinals(to eventual Zone Champion Eagle Pass), their head coach came up to us and spoke to the boys and told them what a great group they were.

I am thankful for each and every one of the players, their families, and my assistant coaches for a fun season. Special thanks goes to my wife Tanna for all of her hard work and dedication behind the scenes. What a ride.

Hawgs take game 1 of bracket play 12-8 against heavyweight #2 seed Deer Park. What a game watching these young men battle. Semifinals tomorrow morning. 🐗⚾️💪😤

Everyone knows behind a good baseball team is an amazing group of baseball moms, and this one is one of the good ones. Congrats to Courtnee for earning professional of the year! Even better that you got to throw out the first pitch to one of the best 11u catchers in central Texas. 🐗💪😤⚾️

Some great lessons learned today for the Hawgs who spent 12 hours at the ball field battling back and just coming up short in the championship game. But it’s no fluke that these boys have found themselves in the championship for three straight tournaments, winning 2 of the 3. These boys have a lot to be proud of!

Hutto Hawgs making some noise today! After a rough day yesterday earning the #8 seed we’ve battled back today and find ourselves in the championship at 4:45. So proud of these boys!

For the second straight tournament the Hawgs found themselves in the championship and got it done! PG Easter Classic Champions! 🐗⚾️💪

We knew this group of boys were special at the beginning of the season and their talent is really starting to shine. It’s been the little things like teamwork and positive accountability that have been the difference makers.

Hawgs went undefeated on the weekend and won the championship game 11-2. Amazing team effort all around from all the boys. Well deserved Hawgs!

Hutto Hawgs stampede down to San Antonio for a one day Pony tournament tomorrow. Boys have been working hard since our time off for Spring Break and are ready to get back out there and show ‘em what we got. ⚾️🐗💪
