🚧 Road Closure: FM 1660 S 🚧

UPDATE (7/2/26 3:00PM): The roadway sustained significant damage and requires additional repairs before it can safely reopen.

According to TxDOT, FM 1660 S between McCoy Lane and Cedar Fork Road is expected to remain closed until Monday, July 6, while they complete major roadway repairs. Additional information is available at DriveTexas.org.

----

FM 1660 S is currently shut down from McCoy Lane to Cedar Fork Road. This is due to a contractor striking a water main, which has impacted the roadway.

Hutto residents of the Rolling Glen subdivision can access their community from the east side of the closure at CR 134.

We don't currently have an estimate for when the roadway will reopen. Please avoid the area and use alternate routes if possible.

If you call 911, you expect a fire department that is prepared, professional, and ready to respond. Hutto Fire Rescue (WCESD #3) is committed to meeting—and exceeding—the highest standards in the fire service.

Hutto Fire Rescue was the first Emergency Services District and the third fire department in Texas to earn the Texas Fire Chiefs Association (TFCA) Best Practices Recognition. This voluntary designation is awarded to fire departments that demonstrate excellence in operations, safety, administration, and service to their communities.

The TFCA Best Practices Program evaluates more than 100 standards across 13 core areas, including:
✅ Firefighter Safety & Health: Annual physicals, Mayday and Personnel Accountability Report (PAR) training, and cancer risk reduction practices.
✅ Tactical Operations: Standardized response procedures, Incident Command System (ICS) protocols, and Hazardous Materials response planning.
✅ Administration & Accountability: Written policies, updated job descriptions, and responsible management of equipment and resources.
✅ Fire Prevention & Community Risk Reduction: Reducing emergencies before they happen through education, engineering, enforcement, economic incentives, and emergency response.

This recognition reflects our commitment to safe, professional, and reliable emergency services for our community every day.

Hutto Fire Rescue has maintained this designation since 2015, was recertified in 2023, and remains committed to continuous improvement as we serve our growing community.

Members of your Hutto Firefighters were out representing our department and our community at the 11th Annual Chris Kelley 5K

This event is about more than crossing the finish line it’s about honoring the life, service, and legacy of Sergeant Chris Kelley while standing alongside the community he dedicated his life to protecting.

Whether running in weighted vests or full turnout gear, our members showed up with purpose, grit, and respect for what this event represents.

It was also great catching up with members of our Box Alarm Ready - Austin TX family. Events like this are a reminder that the fire service is bigger than any one department. The friendships, camaraderie, and support we share extend well beyond the firehouse, and it’s always good to stand alongside those who answer the call with us.

Thank you to everyone who came out to participate, volunteer, and support this incredible event. We’re honored to be a small part of carrying Sgt. Chris Kelley’s legacy forward.

Never Forgotten. Always Honored. ❤️💙

Today, we remember Sgt. Chris Kelley and the sacrifice he made protecting the City of Hutto.

Eleven years later, his legacy continues to live on through the Hutto Police Department, the community he loved, and the road that bears his name.

Chris Kelley Boulevard is more than a street sign it is a reminder of a husband, father, veteran, leader, and hero who gave everything in service to others.

The Hutto Firefighters stand with our brothers and sisters at Hutto Police Department as we honor Sgt. Kelley’s life, service, and lasting impact on our city.

Never forgotten. Always honored. 💙🖤
