Garda Boxing Club

Great Event yesterday in Templemore, for a great charity in Aoibheann’s Pink Tie.
We had a great team from the Club in attendance. All greatly fought bouts, very close. 3 for us and 3 on the wrong side of split decisions. Great effort by all the committee members in attendance and our own Vinny officiating for the day as ref and judge.

This is the Garda team representing the club at the International Battle of the Badges tournament in Templemore tomorrow in aid of Aoibheann’s pink Tie charity. 2pm-6pm with a range of boxers from the UK, USA and Ireland. Promises to be a great event, and thanks to Paddy Clavin and crew of Irish firefighter boxing team for the opportunity.

Congrats to Cathal Conlon, son of former Garda boxing , and multi national champion, Darren. He has just won his first national title at the stadium. Junior 1-63 kilo. I’m sure he’ll represent the Garda club in the future.

What an experience for Darragh Gilroy and Eoin O’Connor, in the Mecca of Boxing, Madison square garden. Both got the victory in the Battle of the badges, last night. Great closely fought fights, and what an atmosphere.

The Garda team is hard at it in Arbour hill boxing club every Wednesday at 2 pm. Why not join us if you can make it. If you are stationed around the country and have an interest in taking part in the Garda Boxing Club, you can contact us at any time, either on Facebook or Instagram. We have plenty coming up this year, that would suit all standards.

Training will be in Arbor Hill Boxing Club this Wednesday at 2 pm for anybody who wants to try out or introduce themselves. Also check out our Instagram account.

This Day next week we will be in Cap Cod Irish village at the Emerald Resort taking on the Massachusetts State Police boxing team. It promises to be a great night. If there is any Irish in the area come along to support.
