Schedule:
- Tiny and Little (Ages 4-8): 9am to 10am
- Youth and Junior (Ages 9-15): 10:30am to 11:30am
- Adult (Ages 16+): 12pm to 1:30pm

Participants of all ages have put in countless hours of training and effort to reach this milestone. This is a fantastic opportunity to showcase their progress and dedication to the art of Jiu-Jitsu.

Deepest Roots of Jiu-Jitsu: The lineage of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu traces back to the renowned martial artist Gigoro Kano, the founding father of Judo. His disciple Mitsuo Maeda took the art of Judo, and Jiu-Jitsu, to the shores of Brazil. It was in this vibrant country that legends like Carson Gracie and Helio Gracie further refined and adapted these centuries-old techniques, giving birth to Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu as we know it today.

Following this rich legacy, notable figures such as Fada, who taught the esteemed Alexander Wendell, and Carlson Gracie, who mentored André Pederneiras, played pivotal roles in the evolution of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. Together, they laid the groundwork for revered academies like New União, further shaping the landscape of this intricate martial art.

Guided by the teachings and wisdom passed down through generations, I am fortunate to have learned under the esteemed Rodrigo Feijão, a respected mentor in the Jiu-Jitsu community. Through his guidance and expertise, I have honed my skills and developed a deep appreciation for the art of Jiu-Jitsu.

As a practitioner and advocate of this ancient discipline, I am dedicated to preserving and promoting the principles that have been instilled in me. With a strong foundation built on the pillars of tradition, respect, and perseverance, I strive to embody the spirit of Jiu-Jitsu both on and off the mat. At the New York Open International tournament by the IBJJF, Cristyan Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Academy delivered outstanding performances across various categories. Here is a summary of their achievements:

1. Eduardo Pereira 🥇 🥇 Gi 🥈 🥉 No-Gi
Eduardo Pereira stood out with a remarkable performance, securing double gold in the Gi weight category and the open class. He also managed to clinch a silver medal in the No-Gi division and a bronze medal in the open class No-Gi category.

2. Kosmee Limaa 🥈 🥈 Gi 🥈 🥇 No-Gi
Kosme Lime showcased his skills by earning double silver medals in both the Gi weight category and the open class. Additionally, he claimed a silver medal in the No-Gi weight division and a gold medal in the open class No-Gi category.

3. Igor Pinheiro 🥉 Gi
Igor Elliel displayed his talent with a bronze medal in the Gi category.

Coach Cristyan Martins also contributed to the academy’s success by winning a bronze medal in both the weight and Open Class Gi divisions.

9. The team of David Cia David Cia, Edilton Arruda Edilton Arruda, and Gabriel Guimaraes da silva Gabriel Silva unfortunately lost in the quarter-finals but displayed resilience and sportsmanship throughout the competition.
