Looking up to someone is great, pushing yourself to be better is great. But striving to be better than you were yesterday is most important! It can be as little as is your stance today better then yesterday? Is that middle punch where it is supposed to be. What have you worked on to be a better version of you tomorrow?

Some class reminders:
Class, testing and tournaments dress code and reminders:
1. Your dobok is your uniform:
~show up ready for class with every piece of your dobok and belt.
~You shouldn't have long tee shirts/tank tops hanging out the bottom of your top
~Remove your jeans, dobok's have pants! Plus you will be hot with jeans under and your movements will be restricted. Girls if you feel more comfortable wear biker shorts or leggings that don't hang out the bottoms under your dobok pants.
~ONLY Kim's Taekwondo issued tanks/tees are allowed in place of dobok top, your dobok pants and belt are still required every class. Order forms can be picked up from instructors.
~Full dobok's are required for tests and tournaments NO exceptions!
2. No jewelry:
~Necklaces can be broken, earrings ripped out and rings can cut people or they just plain hurt when you hit someone wearing one.
3. Hair:
~Keep it out of your face, constantly playing with it is only a distraction.
4. Nails:
~They need to be cut hands and feet. They hurt, cut and leave scars.
5. Deodorant:
~Make sure you wear it every class, nobody likes to smell or partner with stinky people.
These reminders are for everyone from adults down to the littlest kid!

In martial arts, natural ability can carry you far.
Speed. Power. Timing. Instinct.
But talent can only grow as long as the student remains willing to learn.
Ego changes that, because it makes correction feel like disrespect, it turns sparring into a performance, and creates excuses whenever weakness is exposed.
Instead of studying the mistake, you defend your image. Instead of returning to the fundamentals, you chase techniques that make you look advanced.
And slowly, your talent stops developing. It’s not that you reached your limit, but because your ego doesn’t allow anyone show you
where that limit could be expanded, you blind yourself to opportunities for improvement.
Even the most gifted fighter in the room can become the most stagnant if they always need to feel superior, while the less talented student, the one who listens, reflects, and keeps correcting, quietly passes them.
Humility doesn’t weaken talent, it gives talent somewhere to go.
Every time training exposes you, you have a choice:
1- Protect the image of the fighter you think you are…
2- or become the fighter you still have the potential to be.
