Our Belief
UDS believes that introducing and enriching your child in dance is a wonderful gift that will last a life time! Dance teaches poise, body alignment, promotes good posture, healthy habits, musical awareness, and develops rhythm and coordination. Dance increases strength, flexibility and exercises cognitive abilities. Involvement in the many forms of dance allows the student to explore movement, music, and creative expressions as they learn to dance in a structured and positive environment. Dance is an athletic art form that sharpens the student mentally, physically and artistically. Our dancers of all ages and levels share one common factor, they love dancing at UDS.

Yes, we teach pirouettes, leaps, tap steps, hip hop, ballet, jazz and so much more.

But at Urbana Dance, we also teach teamwork. Confidence. Commitment. Resilience. Friendship.

We teach our dancers to support one another, work toward something bigger than themselves, get back up when something is hard, and walk onto a stage believing they belong there. 💙

That’s what UDS is all about.

Our 2026–2027 dance season officially begins TODAY, and we can’t wait to welcome our dancers back to the studio! ✨

And for our littlest dancers, there’s still time to join the fun! 🩰 Our Saturday classes have select spaces available for young dancers ready to move, learn, build confidence, make friends, and discover just how much fun dance can be.

New to dance? That’s okay! Our Saturday classes are a wonderful place to begin. 💙

This week’s Sunday Spotlight is our Junior Jazz duet “Absolutely Not,” choreographed by Karly Parker! 💙

What makes this duet so much fun is the connection between these two dancers. Their personalities shine, they play off each other from beginning to end, and they bring just the right amount of sass and attitude to the stage! 🔥

We love watching these two dance together! 💙✨
